Shidewa and Guluoge exchanged another glance and smiled ruefully at each other. They had known this would happen. It was not that they refused to explain; they genuinely could not explain it clearly. After all, they had only recently entered the Legendary rank, and there were things even they did not fully understand. That was also why they often failed to rein in their auras without realizing it. But aside from that, there was one thing they simply could not figure out: why had Yu Lin Bloodhawk still not broken through?
In the past, they, like many commoner Rangers and Mages, had faced the prospect of never reaching Legendary in their entire lives. Their greatest obstacle had been a lack of resources. Yet in Quel'Thalas, few children of noble families reached Legendary despite having those resources. That was because they lacked experience in life-and-death struggles, as well as insight into life, the world, and the source of power.
Was that fair? Of course not! In this world, commoners were born on the first rung. To grow stronger, they had to risk their lives, and only then might they obtain enough resources to strengthen themselves. Nobles, however, were born on the second rung. The abundant resources they received throughout childhood were enough to place them on that second rung of strength when they grew up. If they wanted to become stronger still, then they too had to risk their lives.
But were sufficient energy resources and life experience enough to enter Legendary? No! They were not. Even with both, the vast majority of people would never cross that threshold in their lifetimes, because advancing to Legendary required one more crucial thing-talent or a fortuitous encounter.
That was why Shidewa and Xingluoge found Yu Lin Bloodhawk's prolonged failure to advance to Legendary
