Yu Lin Bloodhawk led the High Elves through Kalimdor, battling the Bloodsail Buccaneers and bringing Onyxia into their company before reaching Feralas. As the High Elves sought to negotiate with the Highborne, Yu Lin waited for the Gordunni ogres to attack them and watched the battle begin.

• Yu Lin Bloodhawk and Sylvanas entered the Wailing Caverns, then withdrew after negotiating the release of Anacondra and the other Night Elf captives.
• Yu Lin moved troops and battle pets to Trial Valley, arranged passage through Feralas with the Cenarion Circle, and prepared a fleet to seize pirate ships and reach Gadgetzan.
• The High Elves captured a Bloodsail Buccaneer ship, found the pirates’ Desolace camp abandoned, and then fought off ten pirate warships at sea.
• Yu Lin and Sylvanas discovered Onyxia hiding above the fleet and reached an agreement for her to travel with them under restrictions, despite Sylvanas’s hostility toward her.
• The High Elves captured the Bloodsail Buccaneers’ shipyard and sailed for Feralas, where the Night Elves limited their landing and liaison force.
• Yu Lin chose a site in the Highland Wilds for a hippogryph breeding center, then learned that roughly two thousand Gordunni ogres were heading south.
• Yu Lin’s troops waited for the ogres to attack the Highborne at Dire Maul, then watched as the ogres broke through the undermanned defenses and killed civilians while Yu Lin identified their illness as arcane addiction.

Yu Lin Bloodhawk helped Sylvanas reclaim Dire Maul, protect its Highborne civilians, and prepare to judge Prince Setore before departing with an Ogre force. Meanwhile, Alleria led the Western Route Army through the Swamp of Sorrows, captured an Orc camp, and learned that six thousand Orc troops had been sent toward the Searing Lands.

• Yu Lin Bloodhawk rescued Morina, learned that Prince Setore’s guards were forcing Highborne civilians to feed magic to the Archdemon, and ordered the Gryphon Riders to attack the ogres while Morina rallied the civilians.
• Sylvanas arrived at Dire Maul, and her forces cleared the ogres as she and Yu Lin Bloodhawk secured the Library, allied with the Resistance, and planned to bring Setore and his guards to justice.
• Yu Lin Bloodhawk recruited the defeated ogres as warriors and demonstrated that his fel-conversion spell could strengthen elves, prompting Sylvanas and the War God Temple to arrange for elves to learn it.
• Yu Lin Bloodhawk left Dire Maul with the City Lord’s Household Guard and hundreds of ogres, while Sylvanas sent the Highborne commoners back to Quel'Thalas and prepared to move against Setore.
• Alleria read Yu Lin Bloodhawk’s letter during the march through the Swamp of Sorrows, then confronted Lirath after discovering he had hidden aboard a gunboat to join her.
• Vereesa persuaded Lirath to help steal Alleria’s letters, but Alleria caught him, and Vereesa later joined the advancing army and gathered Orc Warlocks to make Soul Shards.
• Alleria’s army surrounded a fortified Orc camp, where the centurion surrendered, and Alleria accepted the prisoners and arranged treatment for the wounded.
• The Orc centurion told Alleria that six thousand Orc troops had been transferred to the Searing Lands, and Alleria credited Yu Lin Bloodhawk’s advice for helping her block the route to the camp.

Alleria ambushed Grommash Hellscream’s force in the Swamp of Sorrows and led the High Elves to defeat the Orcs, though Grommash escaped. Yu Lin Bloodhawk then inspected the growing bases and army in The Hinterlands and called an emergency meeting after studying a map of Kalimdor.

• Alleria discovered that Grommash Hellscream’s two thousand Wolf Riders and six thousand Shattered Hand infantry were approaching, then concealed her cavalry near Stonard and prepared to separate the riders from their main force.
• Alleria’s forces ambushed and harried the exhausted Wolf Riders, while Koldiras’s troops blocked their retreat and destroyed an advance group.
• Alleria joined Koldiras’s army in disguise as the High Elves kept the Orcs awake with bombardments and advanced toward their camp.
• Koldiras’s Steel Torrent charged the Orcs, while traps, Ranger fire, and the Mage Corps’ Blizzard devastated Grommash Hellscream’s Wolf Riders.
• Alleria wounded Grommash Hellscream as he fought through the High Elf lines, but a black vortex struck him with dark-red light and carried him from the battlefield.
• Dirtilas offered the remaining Orcs surrender or death, and the Orcs charged through another Blizzard and were killed before the High Elves cleared the battlefield.
• Yu Lin Bloodhawk inspected the shipyard and Trial Valley projects, learned about refugee resettlement and the defeat of the Kolkar centaurs, and decided to seek Orc prisoners for labor.
• After hearing how quilboar recruitment had grown, Yu Lin Bloodhawk called an emergency meeting and noticed that the Tauren at Ala'thuzad Camp were still marked as an unknown faction.

Yu Lin Bloodhawk coordinated forces against the Orc Remnants in the Wetlands, hoping to secure two dangerous portals before they could be activated. The allies drew the orcs away from their camp and launched an assault, with the battle still underway.

• Yu Lin Bloodhawk addressed Kalimdor’s labor shortage by considering the quilboar as workers and arranged for Thirteen’s pirates to hunt Bloodsail Buccaneers.
• Yu Lin Bloodhawk reviewed the growing Orc prisoner workforce and Thirteen’s fortified base on Hakkari Island, then responded to Zuga’s defection and the rise of Zul'Gurub.
• Yu Lin Bloodhawk investigated two portals in the Wetlands and recruited Shidewa and Xingluoge, who had reached the Legendary realm, to help recover them.
• Yu Lin Bloodhawk secured Daelin’s support for a campaign against the Orc Remnants, while Sylvanas and Old Charlatan helped organize the allied force.
• Sylvanas and Daelin led the army into the Wetlands as Shidewa and Xingluoge scouted the Quarry and the allies prepared a diversion to draw the orcs away from their camp.
• Yu Lin Bloodhawk and Sylvanas ambushed Orc scouts, and Sylvanas let a wounded deputy escape so the orc warlord would believe the main attack was coming from the south.
• Sylvanas’s forces lured the Orc Main Force away, then ballistas demolished the camp’s defenses as Yu Lin Bloodhawk’s Bloodfang Boars and Daelin’s infantry charged inside.
• Sylvanas’s rangers destroyed an Earthbind Totem threatening the infantry, and Yu Lin Bloodhawk killed an orc shaman after Sylvanas cleared away his guards.
