Every invited family was on edge, approaching the banquet as though facing a formidable enemy.

Among the invited guests, the most troubled were the other two of the Three Great Families-the Kamo Clan and the Zenin Clan.

For the other two families, things had become decidedly difficult.
Naobito Zenin had just entered the banquet hall and found a corner to drink in. Barely had he sat down when someone headed straight toward him.
A middle-aged man with dignified features dismissed his attendants and approached with a wine cup in hand. Smiling faintly, he said to Naobito Zenin, seated in the corner, "Naobito, it's been a long time."
Naobito Zenin sighed and resignedly set down his cup.
He looked at the man and gave a slight nod, unwilling to say much. "Kamo Clan Head."
The Kamo Clan Head continued smoothly, "As the Zenin Clan's heir, why are you drinking alone here instead of going to the front hall to see the Six Eyes for yourself?"
Naobito Zenin's expression remained unchanged. "Drinking is one of my great pleasures. With the Six Eyes making his public debut, the Gojo Clan has brought out some truly excellent wine. Missing it would be a terrible shame."
He said nothing at all about his thoughts on the Six Eyes.
"Aren't you curious?" the Kamo Clan Head asked. "The Gojo Clan now has the Six Eyes, and rumor has it that the Six Eyes and the Ten Shadows Technique always emerge together. Yet the technique your son Naoya awakened was Projection Sorcery... Without the Ten Shadows, isn't the Zenin Clan afraid the Gojo Clan will eclipse everyone else?"
"And does the Kamo Clan have Blood Manipulation?" Naobito Zenin countered.
The Kamo Clan Head's expression stiffened.
Naobito Zenin snorted inwardly. You old fox. Your little scheme couldn't be more obvious.
You just want to provoke me into pulling something at the banquet, preferably getting rid of the Six Eyes, don't you?
Once it came to light, the Zenin Clan would bear the Gojo Clan's frenzied retaliation, while the Kamo Clan could sit back and reap the benefits as both families weakened.
Naobito Zenin had a clear head. He could see that much perfectly well.
He would never do anything so stupid!
When the Six Eyes appeared, Naobito Zenin watched from his distant seat as the cold-faced, white-haired boy stood at the center of the gathering.
He silently marveled, As expected of the Six Eyes, a rarity seen only once in a century. Even at this young age, you can already glimpse how powerful he'll become.
Then he remembered how his son had been bullying his daughter these past few days...
Ah... Naoya doesn't have the Ten Shadows Technique after all, and his bearing falls far short of the Six Eyes, too.
As he was thinking this, a sudden commotion arose from the crowd behind him, accompanied by intense fluctuations of cursed energy.
What's going on?
This is the Gojo Clan's banquet. Who would dare?
Just then, one of his own servants came running from behind, looking frantic and shouting, "Lord Naobito! Lord Naobito, something's wrong!"
A bad feeling rose in Naobito Zenin's chest.
Don't tell me... it's one of ours?
"Lord Naobito! Lady Kuang Wu has fainted! And, and..."
Naobito Zenin asked, "And what?"
"And an immensely powerful surge of cursed energy erupted from Lady Kuang Wu, and we heard dogs barking inside her shadow..."
Everyone secretly keeping an eye on them was shaken to the core.

No way, no way. Has the Zenin Clan really produced someone with the Ten Shadows Technique?
Naobito Zenin could barely keep hold of his wine flask. He sprang to his feet, staring at the servant with tremendous excitement. "Is that true? Are you sure you weren't mistaken?"
The servant was equally excited. "Absolutely! The other Zenin servants all saw it! There's no mistake!"
Naobito Zenin burst into laughter and bowed toward the Gojo Clan Head at the front. Then, with a smile he could not conceal, he declared loudly, "My daughter has fainted after awakening her cursed technique. I'm terribly worried about my dear girl, so I must take my leave! I'll be sure to send someone with gifts another day to apologize!"
Then he strode away, leaving everyone else exchanging bewildered looks.
