At the end of the path of light, the view suddenly opened up.
Mu Chen raised his eyes. The scene before him was truly magnificent.
An unbroken range of floating mountains loomed in and out of the sea of clouds. Rather than earth and stone, the mountains were formed from some strange material with a metallic sheen, dark golden patterns flowing across them in the sunlight.
Between the mountains, jade bridges hundreds of feet wide stretched like rainbows, their surfaces carved with intricate spirit marks through which streaks of light occasionally flashed.
Farther away, several towering palaces hung high in the air, their foundations resting not on the ground but on billowing clouds.
Their eaves swept upward, and every roof tile was made of spiritual jade. Bronze bells as tall as a person hung from the corners, swaying gently in the wind without making a sound, sending out only rings of spiritual energy visible to the naked eye.
