Wang Biao was some distance from Zhao Xun, but flying over with the [Goddess's Wings] meant there were no obstacles blocking his way and no need for detours, making the trip much faster.

Still, to avoid prolonged exposure to direct light, Zhao Xun occasionally flew into the shadows of buildings. In all, it took him about fifteen minutes to finally spot Wang Biao.

Wang Biao was holding an umbrella as he cautiously approached a nearby milk tea shop.

He probably thought the umbrella would spare him from worrying about the light, stopping his shadow from consuming his body just as staying beneath a tree would.

What he failed to notice was that behind him, his black shadow had already climbed onto his heels and was slowly spreading toward his ankles.

No matter how an ordinary umbrella was positioned, his lower legs and feet would still be exposed to the light.

Especially while walking, even his arms could end up in the sunlight as his body moved.

To achieve the same effect as sheltering under a tree, he would need one of those enormous parasols used at fruit stalls.

Clearly, there were no parasols that large in the city.

Or rather, the game had been designed without any large parasols to deny players that convenience.

Still, using an umbrella as Wang Biao did was not entirely useless.

It blocked a fair amount of light, slowing the shadow's advance to some extent.

Zhao Xun glanced at his own ankles.

He had been flying the whole time, occasionally adjusting his position to stay in the shadows of buildings whenever possible. Even so, the shadow's advance had spread from the tops of his shoes onto the tops of his feet.

Fortunately, it had not spread far, only reaching a small edge of his foot.
