Zhao Xun and Afro found two more bloodstained books among the many children's books.
Sure enough, a ghost was hiding in each of them.
The ghosts in these two books met the same fate as the first. Before they could emerge, Zhao Xun burned them to nothing after only a few pages had turned.
Their windup took far too long. They never even had a chance to reveal their true forms.
Three hours had passed by then. Afro plopped down on the floor. "I never knew just flipping through books could be this exhausting."
Perhaps it was because he kept worrying that a ghost would suddenly pop out, but he felt he tired much more easily than usual.
The occasional screams from outside kept him on edge, too, leaving him even more mentally exhausted.
Zhao Xun ignored Afro. He had already begun checking the swings, slides, and other play equipment for traces of blood.
Seeing this, Afro didn't dare rest for long. He immediately got up and joined Zhao Xun in checking them.
The moment things went quiet, Afro felt uncomfortable and started searching for something to say again. "Come to think of it, could all the ghosts who died in this playroom be children?"
This was a children's playroom, after all, with more than enough toys to stock a kindergarten.
It would have attracted plenty of children to play here, which made it very, very likely that the people who had died here were children.
Though he had no idea why there would have been so many children here.
Zhao Xun glanced at Afro. "If you're that curious, I won't burn the next ghost right away. I'll wait for it to come out so you can get a good look."
"No, no, no. Forget it." Afro waved his hands
