Then he flew onto the Lumberjack's shoulder and whispered, "Leave the two trees at the very edge."
A nearby surveillance camera happened to cover this area. When he flew high up, he was in its blind spot, but once he landed lower down, he was within its range. He could not speak too openly and had to be more discreet.
At these words, however, the blank look on the Lumberjack's face gave way to reluctance.

After some thought, he did not immediately deepen the hypnosis. Instead, he tried a roundabout approach. "Cut them down more slowly, and you can collect a few more days' wages."
Since the Lumberjack's task was to cut down every tree here, Zhao Xun would not ask him to leave one or two standing. He only needed him to work more slowly and drag things out until the forty-eighth hour.
That would avoid contradicting the Lumberjack's programming while allowing Zhao Xun to hide a little longer.
