After deciding on his next move, Zhao Xun began digging in.
Although there was no meat, the vegetables were all fresh and tasted good.
He ate some of practically everything except the alfalfa, until he was full.
The other players couldn't help swallowing as they watched.
They still had work to do, while Zhao Xun was already eating-and they were the ones serving him.
Most importantly, the meals they received as lower servants were far worse.
Not only did servants get no meat, they had no variety either: nothing but carrots.
Those players who had no idea what had happened earlier were especially envious of Zhao Xun, and just as bewildered.
They were all players, so why did he get to sit at the table and eat with the Rabbit King?
Zhao Xun ate without a care for the assorted looks the other players gave him. He wasn't idle as he ate, either; he was talking to the Pygmy Marmoset in his mind.
"Master, how long do I have to stay with this rabbit?" Even the Pygmy Marmoset's complaints sounded soft and adorable. "She keeps squeezing me, and she's so strong my bones are starting to hurt."
"Don't just put up with everything," Zhao Xun reminded the marmoset. "She might not realize she's using too much force for you. Find a way to let her know when it hurts."
"Oh, got it." The Pygmy Marmoset obediently agreed, then asked again, "So how long do I have to stay with her?"
"One day at most," Zhao Xun answered. "Remember your assignment. Listen for useful information."
Naturally, he hadn't handed over the Pygmy Marmoset just for that bag of gold coins.
He needed to find players in his faction first, but ideally, he wouldn't fall behind on his personal mission either.
