A dozen dazzling blue columns of energy streaked across the firmament, forcing a path through the green sea of Phase Disruptor fire and striking the dreadnought's Dark Matter Deflector Shield head-on.
The Dark Matter Deflector Shield, patterned with eerie markings, immediately rippled like water struck by a stone, barely holding back the Dragon Breath and Wing Fork attacks.
The Dark Matter Deflector Shield efficiently refracted some of the dragon's energy attacks and dissipated some itself.
But redirecting such powerful energy consumed an incredible number of energy credits. The dragon's arrival had effectively accelerated that drain.
And there was still the endless tide of Phase Disruptor fire piercing the shield and armor, directly attacking the hull and the precision instruments inside the dreadnought.
The dreadnought's Combat Computer immediately picked up the dragon's signature and swung its bow around, aiming the terrifying barrel of its Titan Lance at the dragon from halfway across the star system.
Dragon: "Holy shit!"
The Celestial Dragon spotted the Titan Lance barrel charging up, and unpleasant memories immediately flooded back. It twisted around and fled into the distance, positioning itself to dodge.
Wouldn't a hit from that leave me black and blue?
The dragon kept twisting through space, trying to confuse the Titan Lance's targeting system so it could not predict its trajectory.
The tremendous lance strike followed, but its target was not the dragon frantically dodging. It was a cruiser in front of the dreadnought.
An energy beam the same color as Dragon Breath flashed, and another cruiser fell to the world-shattering power of the Titan Lance.
The dragon breathed a sigh of relief.
Apparently, the dreadnought's Combat Computer prioritized the nearest target rather than the greatest threat.
The Celestial Dragon let out a relieved roar. Rolling waves of Dragon Lightning spread over its hide, and
