What exactly Hydra had seen on the Shroud planet, and how Hydra had changed after becoming undead, were mysteries even to the Brugan Necroids.
But the moment they saw the newly transformed Hydra, they knew this was the great Chosen of the Mother of the Void, a being they had to follow.
Like most marauder tribes, the Bruggan Marauders lived aboard starbases and maintained a decentralized tribal system.
Every Brugan Necroid possessed psionic traits. They were all made from corpses. Once a corpse was sent to that Shroud planet, it would be suffused with psionics from the Shroud and transformed into a member of the powerful Brugan Necroids.

Under Hydra's leadership, every Brugan necromorph starbase was united by faith in the Shroud, forming an immensely powerful force.
They would begin expanding, spreading faith in the Void Mother throughout the Sea of Stars; they would continue their Holy War until everything submitted.
This was the mission that had suddenly welled up in Hydra's heart.
Conquer the Milky Way! Everything for the Void Mother!
As for what sort of god the Void Mother actually was... who cared! Stop asking so many questions about psionics!

The Bruggan Marauders achieved unprecedented unity. As though ordained by destiny, enormous spatial rifts appeared in every one of their systems, strange energy seeping through alongside lurid purple clouds.
Psionic power flooded the systems, and purple psionic clouds soon shrouded their planets. Overnight, barren worlds became habitable planets, with vast numbers of Brugan undead appearing on them out of thin air.
Mineral veins gushed endlessly from the ground as though someone had turned on
