(I got a little busy and forgot to schedule the release ahead of time.)
Following closely behind several Lost Titans, the Lost Empire's Battle Cruisers lined up as though waiting for a firing squad, their gun barrels continuously spewing azure Focused Arcs.
Lost Escorts surged forward, their torpedoes and missiles weaving a dense web.
Facing them was the Starfish Republic's Colossus fleet.
The slightly aging Colossus Battleship spread its broad wings, its sky-blue shields covering a long stretch of space as the mass of battleships behind it opened fire in unison.
The battle had already been raging for some time. Starfish and Habinte were evenly matched opponents, both fond of dragging their capital ships to the front to soak up damage and dish it out.
But the disparity between their ships gradually tipped the scales toward the Habinte Unified Worlds.
The cross-shaped Lost Escorts nimbly adjusted their flight paths, evading attack after attack. The Lost Titans boasted formidable firepower, firing their Ancient Annihilation Beams under cover of the Escorts gradually advancing ahead of them.
Starfish's Colossus Battleship, however, was simply too large. Though it provided aura bonuses to its fleet, it also took an enormous number of torpedoes from the Escorts head-on.
Lost Escorts were actually only the size of destroyers, giving them a significant advantage against the Colossus Battleship. The larger Battle Cruisers, by contrast, suffered considerable losses.
Starfish's Colossus finally began to buckle. Its shields shattered again and again, cracks riddled its armor, and even some of its shipyards sustained damage, forcing it to withdraw first.
Without the Colossus's protection, the remaining battleships immediately came under concentrated fire. In the end, Starfish sounded the retreat, hastily withdrawing and leaving a mass of wreckage behind.
A pyrrhic victory.
