What followed was a stretch of seemingly peaceful days, so peaceful that Xi Yan almost felt as though the Calamities had never appeared.
After spending several days in lengthy discussions with Great Prophet Zarqlan, the Synthetic Queen had rarely contacted the other empires, perhaps because her outlook had changed. Fleets still emerged from time to time from the black hole formed from the core of the Militant Isolationists' Homeworld, but they no longer attacked the Awakened Empires or Xi Yan.
Her fleets passed through the Human Empire, heading north and south to attack the other Calamity forces.
The Feitesiа Arbitration Empire successfully stopped the second wave of the Swarm in North the Milky Way, wiping it out within its own territory. The price was the loss of more than half its fleet, most of which fell under the Swarm's onslaught.
Meanwhile, its once-vibrant preserve planets had been bombarded into tomb worlds. To eradicate every egg and spawning pool on those planets, the Feitesiа Arbitration Empire conducted prolonged Orbital Bombardment, tearfully blasting its precious preserves into oblivion.
Then came the third wave of Swarm fleets.
This was the Swarm's last major force. The third wave was even more terrifying in number, stronger, and ferocious in its advance.
Its arrival point shifted east again. The first Swarm vanguard had arrived in the northwestern Milky Way, the second wave in North the Milky Way, and this wave in the northeastern Milky Way.
After that, border sensors detected no further subspace fluctuations, proving that the Swarm had no more fleets coming.
That was good news for every force in the Milky Way fighting the Calamities.
Yet this final wave of the Swarm was undoubtedly the fiercest. Neither its numbers nor the strength of its individual units could be compared to the previous two waves.
