Humanity, a race that spanned the universe from beginning to end.
Ever since the Time Worm first became conscious, it had seen ancient humans flying primitive spacecraft back and forth across the universe.
No matter how many eras passed, no matter how badly a Crisis Carrier civilization ravaged some region of the galaxy, human civilizations always seemed to turn up somewhere else.
Later, the Time Worm and the Poison Saint began to suspect that the Extradimensional Demons that invaded the universe at irregular intervals were humans. They certainly looked somewhat alike: one head, one torso, two arms, and two legs.
Prolonged observation confirmed this absurd discovery. Some Extradimensional Demons left their original universe and settled in this one. Their luminous bodies and their nature, which clearly did not belong to this dimension, gradually adapted to the universe's laws until they finally took human form.
Moreover, every invasion brought a few Extradimensional Demons that secretly stayed behind, eventually becoming native humans.

What a... remarkable transformation. Was this where humans came from? No wonder they could establish powerful empires in the Sea of Stars every time.
With their higher-dimensional past, those humans could rise rapidly even after losing their memories and technology from the higher dimensions. In many eras, humanity ranked among the strongest civilizations. Of course, the newly arrived demons hunting them did not regard these naturalized humans as kin. They killed them all the same.
The Time Worm developed a profound interest in humanity. Rather than rely on local natives to help with the ascension plan, it would be better to cooperate with a powerful human civilization.
