"Hacha!"

Monferno blazed with fighting spirit, determined to dig up a fossil containing a Pokémon!

There was almost no vegetation on this mountain, just exposed rocks and dry sand everywhere.

"Where do we dig?"

Ye Qing looked around. He knew absolutely nothing about digging for fossils and had no idea even how to pick a spot.

The tourists beside him were equally baffled, exchanging looks without knowing where to start.

Just then, an old man carrying all kinds of equipment came down the mountain with a Chatot perched on his shoulder.

Seeing everyone at a loss, he smiled and advised them, "First time here, youngsters? I suggest you head back. You're just wasting money."

"Idiots~"

The Chatot on the old man's shoulder pointed a wing at Monferno and laughed loudly.

Looking at this scruffy bird, Monferno felt he had taken a hit for doing absolutely nothing. He wanted nothing more than to go over and tear his feathers out.

The sun blazed overhead. Although autumn had already arrived, the weather seemed even hotter. The late-autumn heat certainly lived up to its reputation.

"Forget it. Let's just find somewhere shady."

Ye Qing muttered to himself. He had never held much hope of finding fossils anyway. He had simply come to keep Monferno company and let him experience how hard being a Trainer was.

He spotted a rock face nearby that would block the sunlight nicely. Since it was too close to the foot of the mountain, nobody was digging there.

Monferno stood before the rock face with his hands on his hips, looking rather lost. How was he supposed to dig up fossils? Wouldn't he ruin them if he used his claws?

Ye Qing sat on a rock, enjoying the sight of a young woman climbing the mountain nearby.

"Hacha."

Monferno
