Since his parents still had not returned home, Ye Qing had kept Salamence with him. After all, it was a high-level Pseudo-Legendary Pokémon. Even without Mega Evolution, it was still an important fighting force. "Then I choose you-Salamence!"

Salamence beat its wings and rose from the forest, its ferocious dragon head glaring at Scizor.
The enormous level gap and the pressure of its species made it somewhat difficult for Scizor to breathe.
Mizuno Jeff looked at the raging dragon. Although he knew its Fire-type moves would deal quadruple damage to Scizor, and although he knew Scizor was no match for it, his samurai spirit told him that even without any chance of victory, he absolutely could not surrender without a fight!

Ye Qing could not be bothered with a game of cat and mouse. Time was tight, and ending the battle sooner meant a little less danger.
Scorching flames swept through the forest. Fortunately, Scizor was fast enough to narrowly evade them each time.

Mizuno Jeff kept looking for an opening. Although his hopes of victory were slim, he would never admit defeat.
