Arc 26Rainforest Trials and Legendary Rescue

Ye Qing explored the rainforest, helped defend Venusaur’s evolution ceremony, and found Xerneas before Yveltal petrified him and his companions. After Xerneas revived them, Ye Qing won the Sky Badge, accompanied Diancie home to replace the Sacred Diamond, and reached the Steel Fortress as Luo Moyun plotted to steal the DNA Splicers.

  • Ye Qing arranged for the Genesect to stay with Mew and entered the rainforest, where his Pokémon defeated a Totem Tangrowth after it captured Gabite.
  • Ye Qing rescued Bulbasaur and defended Venusaur’s Evolution Ceremony from invading Pokémon, while Gabite overcame his fear of Simisage and evolved into Garchomp.
  • Venusaur directed Ye Qing to Xerneas, who guided Diancie in sensing Fairy-type power, while the Star Team accidentally awakened Yveltal.
  • Mu Linsen led Yveltal toward Ye Qing, and Yveltal petrified Ye Qing, Gardevoir, and Diancie before Mewtwo and the other Legendary Pokémon intervened.

Chapters 626–650 Vol. 7 Read

Ch. 626Second Brother, Lend Me a Hand (Thanks to Happy Fat Tiger for the Top Supporter Badge!)

Ye Qing asked Mew to find a safe habitat for the five Genesect, but Mew dragged him into the sky to demand the promised game console, prompting the Genesect to attack in his defense. After Ye Qing stopped the fight and delivered the console, Mew agreed to take the Genesect to a place where only Pokémon could enter, leaving Ye Qing unable to visit them for now.

  • Ye Qing explained the Genesect's situation to Mew and asked it to find them a place humans would not disturb.
  • Mew woke Ye Qing by dropping him from ten thousand meters, and the Genesect flew up to rescue him and attacked Mew.
  • Director Wang saw Ye Qing in the battle footage and told the Alto Mare City Public Security Bureau to monitor the fight rather than sound the alarm.
  • Ye Qing showed Mew his phone and stopped the fighting by explaining that the game console had arrived.
  • Ye Qing told the Genesect they would stay with Mew, and Mew promised to find them a suitable habitat that Ye Qing could not enter.

Ch. 627Ye Qing, please, stop bothering me

Ye Qing prepared to travel to a tropical rainforest to train Gabite, while deciding that Absol should remain in Alto Mare and work toward changing how people viewed its species. After arranging a publicity campaign with Mayor Wei, Ye Qing asked Mew for a ride on his journey.

  • Ye Qing told his mother he planned to leave for a tropical rainforest and began preparing for the trip.
  • Ye Qing decided Absol should stay in Alto Mare, where it could help people accept its species, and asked his mother to take it out among the public.
  • Ye Qing asked Mayor Wei to arrange publicity for Absol, including videos of it helping with disaster relief, and Wei agreed.
  • Mew returned with Latias and hurried to play its new game console.
  • Ye Qing asked Mew for a ride to his destination, and Mew decided to help so Ye Qing would leave it alone to game.

Ch. 628Unknown danger

Ye Qing traveled with Mew to a dangerous tropical rainforest to help Gabite evolve and give Diancie experience while searching for Xerneas. After Tangrowth ambushed the group, Gabite fought back, but a much larger vine seized him and dragged him away.

  • Mew teleported Ye Qing and his Pokémon to a vast rainforest, then left to play video games.
  • Gardevoir sensed powerful enemies nearby, and Ye Qing's group saw wild Pokémon hunting one another in the jungle.
  • Unknown vines dragged Gabite into the undergrowth, and Ye Qing followed with Diancie and Gardevoir.
  • Gardevoir shielded the group from the vines and Stun Spore while Infernape and Diancie burned and cleared the surrounding plants.
  • Ye Qing sent Gabite to battle a group of Tangrowth, and Gabite struck several of them with Dragon Claw and Dragon Rush.
  • A thick vine knocked Gabite down, bound him, and dragged him away as Ye Qing ordered the others to follow.

Ch. 629The Man-Eating Tree

Ye Qing and his Pokémon followed the vine that had taken Gabite into a haunted forest, where a Totem Tangrowth and a group of Trevenant attacked them. The battle left Gengar in Tangrowth’s grasp and Ye Qing’s group surrounded as Gabite struggled to break free.

  • Ye Qing followed the vine into an eerie forest with Infernape, Gardevoir, and Diancie, where the plants parted to let them pass.
  • Ye Qing found Gabite among the drained corpses hanging from a giant tree, and Tangrowth’s vines attacked the group.
  • Gengar tried to rescue Gabite but was seized by vines that began draining his energy, while Infernape charged at the tree.
  • Trevenant emerged from the surrounding trees and their cries briefly stunned Ye Qing and Gardevoir, but Diancie protected them with Light Screens.
  • Ye Qing identified the attacker as a level 65 Totem Tangrowth, while Gabite cut through his bindings and Infernape was struck away.

Ch. 630Breakthrough

Ye Qing’s Pokémon battled Tangrowth and Trevenant, and Gabite broke through to level 44 under pressure before the team defeated them. Elsewhere, Granny Minghua learned that Ye Qing had received her family’s Key Stone and Lucario’s Mega Stone, and sent Zhao Ling to retrieve them.

  • Ye Qing let Gabite face the much stronger Tangrowth while Infernape and Gengar fought nearby Trevenant, then ordered Infernape to rescue Gabite when Tangrowth’s vines overwhelmed him.
  • Infernape was caught and struck by Tangrowth’s vines while saving Gabite, and Gabite broke through to level 44 before retaliating with a powerful attack.
  • Ye Qing ordered his Pokémon to attack at full strength, and they defeated Tangrowth and the Trevenant; afterward, Aggron dug a pit for the corpses hanging in the trees.
  • Granny Minghua learned that the Key Stone and Lucario’s Mega Stone had been handed to Ye Qing, and summoned Zhao Ling to retrieve them.
  • Granny Minghua asked Zhao Ling, who was close to Ye Qing, to get her family’s Mega Stone and Key Stone back.

Ch. 631You're not my grandma anymore

Zhao Ling refused Granny Minghua’s demand to oppose Ye Qing, while Giovanni dismissed her request for Team R to intercept him. As Ye Qing’s group traveled through the forest toward a river, a venomous snake ambushed them, lunging at Ye Qing.

  • Zhao Ling told Granny Minghua that he would neither go after Ye Qing nor oppose him, then left despite her anger.
  • Granny Minghua ordered her confidant to contact Team R or the Star Team and to intensify the search for Ye Qing’s group.
  • Giovanni rejected the Ghost-type Elite Four member’s request to intercept Ye Qing, wary of the powerful Pokémon supporting him.
  • Ye Qing’s Pokémon rested by a stream, where Gabite failed to catch fish and repeatedly ended up in the water.
  • Ye Qing released Milotic to find a river, and the group traveled through the forest while Gardevoir teleported them past wild Pokémon.
  • After a faint groan that sounded like a Bulbasaur came from the grass, a venomous python struck Milotic and lunged at Ye Qing.

Ch. 632Bulbasaur?

Ye Qing rescued a young Bulbasaur from Seviper and continued through the forest with his Pokémon toward a river. He reached a Y-shaped stretch of river near Wang Yao’s marked location and began making camp.

  • Gabite fought Seviper while Gardevoir and Milotic rescued and treated the Bulbasaur Seviper had swallowed.
  • Ye Qing let the battered Seviper go, but Seviper spat gastric juice at him before slithering away.
  • Ye Qing carried the recovering Bulbasaur onward, while three Liepard followed the group and then gave up on attacking.
  • Ye Qing reached the river, checked the map, and sent Gardevoir to scout the area from the air.
  • Ye Qing let the rest of his Pokémon out and gave hungry Diancie Fairy-type Pokéblocks.

Ch. 633Evolution Ceremony?

Ye Qing and his Pokémon were attacked by a Feraligatr at their riverside campsite, then followed a lost Bulbasaur to his group. The group barred outsiders because it planned to hold an Evolution Ceremony, leaving Ye Qing waiting outside their territory.

  • Feraligatr attacked Gabite in the river, but Milotic drove it away and Gabite escaped to shore.
  • Ye Qing learned that Bulbasaur had been separated from his parents and decided to help him find his group.
  • Bulbasaur led Ye Qing, Gardevoir, Infernape, and Gabite through the forest to a guarded gorge.
  • Two Ivysaur stopped the group and sent one of their number to report Bulbasaur's return.
  • Diancie translated Bulbasaur's explanation that his group would hold an Evolution Ceremony soon and would not admit outsiders.

Ch. 634An incredible evolution ritual

Ye Qing entered the Venusaur clan’s valley and learned that its aging leader needed help defending the berry trees from enemies during the coming evolution ritual. He agreed to protect the clan, asking only to record the ritual, and left the coming battle unresolved.

  • Ivysaur returned and led Ye Qing and his Pokémon into the valley after the clan leader agreed to receive them.
  • Ye Qing saw the valley’s Pokémon and berry trees, then identified their elderly leader as a level 80 Totem Venusaur.
  • Venusaur thanked Ye Qing for rescuing Bulbasaur and explained that enemies threatened the clan during the approaching evolution ritual.
  • Venusaur and his companions offered Ye Qing a Grass Gem and Power Herb to defend the valley.
  • Ye Qing declined the payment and agreed to help, asking to record the evolution ritual.

Ch. 635An army at the gates

Ye Qing prepared to defend the Venusaur tribe while its leader held an Evolution Ceremony, and three allied armies attacked the canyon. The battle began with Venusaur's forces pushed back, and Ye Qing sent Aggron, Milotic, and Gabite to reinforce them as the ceremony continued.

  • Ye Qing discovered the remaining fruit trees produced Poké Ball and Pokéblock ingredients, then prepared his Pokémon and shared Pokéblocks with the Venusaur tribe.
  • The Venusaur leader gathered eight Ivysaur and several Bulbasaur for a ceremony that used his life force to bless and help them evolve.
  • Gyarados led Water-type Pokémon toward the canyon, backed by Rillaboom's monkey clan and Electivire's lightning clan, planning to attack during the ceremony.
  • Venusaur began the ceremony as two elder Venusaur and the canyon's Pokémon prepared to defend the entrance, while Ye Qing guarded the fruit trees with his Pokémon.
  • Gyarados's Hyper Beam and the elders' Petal Dance opened the battle, and the arriving monkeys tipped the fight against Venusaur's defenders.
  • Ye Qing sent Aggron, Milotic, and Gabite to reinforce the defenders as the attackers threatened to overrun them.

Ch. 636Gabite's strange behavior

Ye Qing and his Pokémon fought Gyarados’s forces while the Venusaur tribe’s evolution ritual neared completion. The battle remained unresolved when a Simisage riding a Fearow flew toward the six fruit trees.

  • Gabite froze when he saw Simisage, while Rillaboom led a group of monkeys into the fight and forced Ye Qing to send Slaking against him with Huge Power.
  • Diancie joined the battle against Gyarados, and Gardevoir rescued Bulbasaur as Venusaur was knocked down.
  • A level 75 overlord Electivire arrived, and Ye Qing sent Infernape to fight him while keeping Gengar hidden.
  • The Venusaur leader’s ritual advanced as Bulbasaur evolved and three Ivysaur approached their critical stage.
  • A Simisage riding a Fearow swept over the battlefield toward the six fruit trees.

Ch. 637I'll Get Stronger If I Beat You to Death

Ye Qing and his Pokémon fought off Fearow and Simisage as they tried to steal the Berries, while Ye Qing pushed Gabite to overcome his fear. Gabite regained his fighting spirit and battled Simisage, ending the chapter by bursting from underground to ram him.

  • Fearow and Pansage arrived to steal the fruit trees, but Ye Qing ordered Gengar and Gardevoir to stop Fearow while Simisage attacked him with Bullet Seed.
  • Venusaur completed the Evolution Ceremony and sent Vine Whips to help protect Ye Qing, while Ye Qing called on Gabite to face Simisage.
  • Seeing Ye Qing in danger, Gabite overcame his fear, charged through Bullet Seed, and clashed with Simisage, who knocked him from the canopy.
  • Other forest overlords joined the battle, and the Venusaur leader entered the fight as his newly evolved Pokémon helped turn the situation around.
  • Ye Qing ordered Gabite to use Draco Meteor, then Dig; Simisage avoided the attack and charged at Ye Qing, but Gabite burst from the ground and rammed him between the legs.

Ch. 638Let it all be destroyed

Gabite defeated Simisage and evolved into Garchomp, then carried Ye Qing into the battle near Infernape. Garchomp’s Dragon Rush blasted away the Pokémon around them, leaving the fight underway.

  • Gabite used Draco Meteor and repeated Dragon Claws to overwhelm Simisage after Fearow fled.
  • Gabite pinned Simisage and defeated him with point-blank Dragon Breath despite being struck by Iron Tail.
  • Gabite evolved into a level 47 Garchomp as Ye Qing, Gardevoir, and the others watched.
  • Ye Qing climbed onto Garchomp, who flew toward the battlefield near Infernape with Gardevoir and Gengar escorting them.
  • Garchomp struck the ground with Dragon Rush, blasting away the nearby Pokémon and clearing a large area.

Ch. 639After the battle

Ye Qing and his Pokémon defeated the invading forces, but the Venusaur leader was near death after exhausting himself in battle. As Ye Qing took charge of the valley Pokémon, Venusaur insisted on honoring his promise to give him the Power Herb and Grass Gem.

  • Ye Qing and his Pokémon routed the three allied forces, and Gyarados and the other leaders fled.
  • Ye Qing treated his injured Pokémon while Venusaur used his remaining strength to heal the wounded.
  • Venusaur collapsed, so Ye Qing organized the valley Pokémon and had the dead buried.
  • Ye Qing checked his Pokémon's progress: Garchomp had gained the most, Aggron and Milotic reached level 53, and Slaking reached level 52.
  • Diancie translated Venusaur's thanks and his offer of the Power Herb and Grass Gem, but Venusaur insisted on keeping his promise when Ye Qing refused.

Ch. 640The Cocoon of Destruction and Xerneas

Ye Qing and his Pokémon reached a peaceful part of the rainforest while following Diancie’s guidance toward Xerneas. Elsewhere, Mu Linsen began retrieving Yveltal’s Cocoon of Destruction, and the chapter ended with Ye Qing finding Xerneas asleep in the form of a bare tree.

  • Ye Qing kept the Power Herb after Venusaur agreed to give him one item, and Venusaur showed him Xerneas’s location on a map traced in the grass.
  • Ye Qing set out with his Pokémon, promised Garchomp a treasure, and traveled for a week through the rainforest to avoid territorial overlord Pokémon.
  • Diancie sensed Xerneas across the X-shaped river, where Ye Qing found Pokémon living peacefully amid a strong aura of life.
  • Mu Linsen sent three team members down into a pit to retrieve Yveltal’s Cocoon of Destruction as a backup plan after losing access to the Genesect Army.
  • Diancie guided Ye Qing through an increasingly dense, empty forest until Garchomp cleared vines and revealed Xerneas resting as a lifeless-looking tree.

Ch. 641A sudden upheaval (Happy Lunar New Year, everyone!!!)

Xerneas helped Diancie sense Fairy-type power while the Cocoon of Destruction awakened and unleashed Yveltal on Mu Linsen’s Star Team. Ye Qing left the rainforest with Diancie and his Pokémon, while Mu Linsen fled toward a river, considering sacrificing his subordinates to survive.

  • Xerneas appeared before Diancie and guided her in sensing Fairy-type power, then left after Diancie succeeded.
  • The Cocoon of Destruction fell during the Star Team’s attempt to move it, awakened, and released Yveltal.
  • Yveltal petrified many Star Team members and destroyed the Flying Device despite Mu Linsen’s attempt to stop it with weapons.
  • Ye Qing recalled his Pokémon and rode Garchomp south with Diancie after completing both tasks.
  • Mu Linsen and his surviving subordinates fled Yveltal toward a river, and Mu Linsen considered using them as shields.

Ch. 642An overwhelming disparity in power (Thanks to: Puff Senbei for Top Supporter Badge ×3)

Mu Linsen tried to escape Yveltal by sacrificing his subordinate and then targeting Ye Qing, but Ye Qing trapped him and fought back. After Mu Linsen was petrified, Yveltal attacked Ye Qing, leaving him struggling to protect his Pokémon as Gengar and Infernape launched a counterattack.

  • Mu Linsen redirected his fleeing group toward Ye Qing, hoping to use him as a sacrifice to escape Yveltal.
  • Mu Linsen attacked his last subordinate and used Claydol to approach Ye Qing, but Gengar trapped Alakazam with Mean Look.
  • Ye Qing recognized Mu Linsen as a member of the Star Team and struck him with Draco Meteor while Yveltal fired Oblivion Wing.
  • Yveltal petrified Mu Linsen and his Pokémon, while Mu Linsen warned Ye Qing that the attack was coming for him next.
  • Ye Qing released Diancie and tried to ward off Yveltal, but it attacked despite the aura of Xerneas.
  • Diancie shielded the group as Mega Gengar and Mega Infernape attacked Yveltal, and the pink diamond barrier shattered.

Ch. 643You Dare Stand in My Way? (Thanks to: Tiger King for the three Grand Supporter badges!)

Yveltal turned Ye Qing, Diancie, and their companions into stone, but Mew, Mewtwo, and other powerful Pokémon arrived and attacked it. As they nearly defeated Yveltal, Xerneas intervened and faced Mewtwo.

  • Yveltal knocked Infernape and Gengar out of their Mega Evolutions, then turned Gardevoir, Diancie, and Ye Qing into stone despite their attempts to protect one another.
  • Mew, Mewtwo, Latias, Latios, and five Genesect arrived through Spacetime Gates and attacked Yveltal after seeing Ye Qing petrified.
  • Xerneas charged toward the battle to stop the destruction, while Mewtwo continued directing the assault and told Mew that Ye Qing could still be saved.
  • Mewtwo struck Yveltal with a massive Shadow Ball, but Xerneas blocked the group from continuing the attack.
  • Mewtwo challenged Xerneas after it stepped between the attackers and Yveltal.

Ch. 644Negotiations

Mega Mewtwo Y negotiated with Xerneas and allowed it to revive Ye Qing and the others, while Yveltal fled. After waking, Ye Qing learned Xerneas had become a withered tree and watched Mewtwo help Diancie before departing with the Genesect Army.

  • Xerneas tried to stop Mega Mewtwo Y from punishing Yveltal, and Mewtwo agreed to let Xerneas save everyone.
  • Yveltal regained consciousness, heard Xerneas offer to revive it, and flew away in shame.
  • Xerneas released a green halo that restored the forest and revived Ye Qing, the Pokémon, and the humans, then became a withered tree.
  • Mewtwo killed Mu Linsen after Ye Qing called him a mortal enemy.
  • Mewtwo helped Diancie gain insight, warned Ye Qing to be more careful, and left with the Genesect Army and Mu Linsen's remaining Pokémon.

Ch. 645The City That Never Sleeps (Thanks to: I Don't Know for the Top Supporter Badge!)

After surviving Mu Linsen’s attack, Ye Qing comforted his Pokémon and left the Tropical Rainforest, setting out for America to challenge its Flying-type Gym. He reached Insomnia City and flew to Ursaring Mountain, where the Sky Gym awaited.

  • After Mewtwo and the other Legendary Pokémon departed, Ye Qing comforted Gardevoir and his team, then had Infernape cremate Mu Linsen’s corpse.
  • Diancie told Ye Qing she had mastered Fairy Aura, and he praised and fed his Pokémon before recalling most of them.
  • Ye Qing planned to challenge the Sky Gym in America, visit Diancie’s Diamond Kingdom and Britain’s Steel Fortress, and prepare for the World Cup.
  • Ye Qing and Gardevoir rode Garchomp across the sea to Insomnia City, where Rotom helped Ye Qing register and find a place to stay.
  • After resting and getting his Pokémon a massage, Ye Qing flew with Garchomp to Ursaring Mountain, where the Sky Gym stood at the summit.

Ch. 646Sky Gym (Thanks to Su Zihan for the Top Supporter Badge!)

Ye Qing arrived at Sky Gym to challenge Gym Leader Madison in an aerial battle that tested a Trainer’s courage and coordination with their Pokémon. As Ye Qing and Garchomp took to the sky, Madison ordered Braviary to attack with Air Slash.

  • Ye Qing registered at Sky Gym, where Rotom gave him a language translator and explained that challengers battled beyond the surrounding cliffs.
  • Madison introduced himself as Sky Gym’s leader and explained that the battle would end when a Pokémon could no longer fight or conceded.
  • Madison recognized Ye Qing as the Trainer who first created the Bond Phenomenon, then selected a level 50 Braviary for the battle.
  • Ye Qing and Garchomp took off to face Madison and Braviary, but Madison was disappointed by their unsteady coordination.
  • Madison hesitated before ordering Braviary to use Air Slash.

Ch. 647Take This Draco Meteor!

Ye Qing and Garchomp adapted to Madison and Braviary’s aerial attacks, turning the battle in their favor with speed, Double Team, and Draco Meteor. As Braviary tried to use Tailwind to rise above the next Draco Meteor, Ye Qing revealed that his attack would not work in the usual way.

  • Braviary repeatedly attacked Garchomp with Air Slash and Brave Bird, but Ye Qing had Garchomp rely on his speed and Double Team to outmaneuver him.
  • Garchomp caught Braviary’s tail in his jaws and blasted it with Draco Meteor, leaving Braviary badly injured and falling toward the cliff.
  • Ye Qing had Garchomp use Sandstorm, then Twister to sweep the sand toward Braviary when Madison kept him outside the storm.
  • Braviary escaped the Twister with Brave Bird and charged Garchomp, but Protect stopped his attack.
  • Madison ordered Braviary to use Tailwind and fly upward to evade Draco Meteor, while Ye Qing indicated his attack would not follow the usual pattern.

Ch. 648Sky Badge

Ye Qing defeated Madison in a Sky Gym battle and received the Sky Badge, then answered Madison’s questions about the Bond Phenomenon. He left with Diancie to find the Sacred Diamond, while Diancie worried whether she could create one.

  • Ye Qing and Garchomp used a modified Draco Meteor to strike Braviary and win the battle, and Madison narrowly escaped on Hydreigon.
  • Madison awarded Ye Qing the Sky Badge and praised his combat skills, then invited him to talk about the Bond Phenomenon.
  • Madison claimed the Dragon Country Pokémon League had sold Ye Qing’s blood test report, but Ye Qing saw through his attempt to turn him against the League and dismissed the concern.
  • Ye Qing told Madison that the Bond Phenomenon did not require a medium and that matching heart rates were a confirmed condition, then answered more questions and exchanged contact details with him.
  • Madison gave Ye Qing a Language Translator, and Ye Qing rode Garchomp toward the Sacred Diamond with Diancie, who asked whether she could make one.

Ch. 649Diancie's choice

Diancie created a new Sacred Diamond by mastering Mega Evolution and gained the Diamond Minister’s permission to continue traveling with Ye Qing. After leaving the Diamond Kingdom, Ye Qing prepared to head for the Steel Fortress, while Cynthia began discussing the region’s World Championships lineup.

  • Garchomp flew Ye Qing and Diancie to Africa, then crash-landed in the forest entrance to the Diamond Kingdom.
  • Diancie returned to the Diamond Kingdom and told the Diamond Minister that she had learned to create a Sacred Diamond.
  • Diancie Mega Evolved and created a new Sacred Diamond, replacing the one that was about to shatter.
  • The Diamond Minister accepted Diancie’s wish to travel with Ye Qing, and the Carbink recognized her as their ruler.
  • Ye Qing and Diancie left the underground kingdom and prepared to travel to the Steel Fortress.
  • Cynthia asked the Pokémon League base whether its five World Championships main-event competitors had been chosen.

Ch. 650First time in the city

Cynthia kept Su Yiqin’s promised main-event spot despite wanting to give it to Ye Qing, while Luo Moyun set a scheme in motion to help Kyurem steal the DNA Splicers. Ye Qing arrived at the Steel Fortress and was surprised to see Rotom-powered cars flying through the city.

  • Cynthia considered replacing Su Yiqin with Ye Qing in the world tournament’s main event, but Council Member Luo reminded her that the Pokémon League had promised the spot to Su Yiqin in return for the Su Group’s sponsorship, so she kept the original selection.
  • Luo Moyun learned that Zapdos was guarding the treasury entrance and ordered Yellow Hair to arrange a false report that Moltres would attack Shanhai City, planning to draw the capital’s top forces away so Kyurem could seize the DNA Splicers.
  • Luo Moyun contacted Team R and reflected that obtaining the DNA Splicers would let him claim Articuno, while blaming Ye Qing for driving him to this point.
  • Ye Qing rode Garchomp to the Steel Fortress, recalled it to avoid drawing attention, and entered the city with Infernape after registering.
  • Ye Qing stared in amazement at cars flying through the sky, and a middle-aged woman explained that Rotom operated them.
