Ch. 321The choice between Shiny Haunter and Totem Gastly

Ye Qing chose a Shiny Haunter from Gastly’s descendants and accepted its challenge to battle, sending Gardevoir to fight. Gardevoir badly injured Haunter with Psychic-type attacks while Haunter’s Perish Song threatened nearby Pokémon.

  • Gastly summoned his descendants and offered Ye Qing a gifted Pokémon to take with him.
  • Ye Qing examined a Shiny Haunter and a Totem Gastly, then chose the Shiny Haunter.
  • The Shiny Haunter tried to touch Ye Qing, then challenged him to catch it in a fair fight.
  • Haunter began using Perish Song, alarming the nearby Trainers and prompting them to recall their Pokémon.
  • Gardevoir copied Haunter’s type and struck him with Synchronoise and Confusion, leaving him badly injured.

Ch. 322Visiting an Old Friend

Ye Qing captured Haunter after Gardevoir defeated him, then returned home with Wang Yao as Shanhai City recovered from the purple mist. The next morning, Ye Qing visited his old classmate Morikawa Minako in the hospital, where she had awakened and was recovering.

  • Gardevoir defeated Haunter with Disarming Voice, and Ye Qing captured him before Perish Song took effect.
  • Millennium Gastly left with his descendants after refusing Wang Yao's request to catch one of them.
  • Ye Qing and Wang Yao returned home, reunited with their families, and rested through the night.
  • Ye Qing woke the next morning, ate breakfast, and decided to visit Morikawa Minako at the hospital.
  • Ye Qing entered Morikawa Minako's room and asked how she was recovering.

Ch. 323Compensation

Ye Qing told Morikawa Minako that her brother Fujii Gongshu had died and gave her his ashes, then accepted her Grass Gem. After Dragon Tamer offered compensation for Ye Qing’s contribution to Shanhai City, Ye Qing secured an estate and traded the Grass Gem for a Dragon Gem, leaving him to settle back at home with his Pokémon.

  • Ye Qing told Morikawa Minako about Fujii Gongshu’s death and gave her the box containing his ashes.
  • Morikawa Minako offered Ye Qing her brother’s Grass Gem, and Ye Qing eventually accepted it after she insisted.
  • Blaziken arrived at the hospital and reacted warily to Ye Qing, who left his phone number and departed with Gardevoir.
  • Dragon Tamer offered Ye Qing compensation, and Ye Qing requested a Pseudo-Legendary Pokémon Egg before settling for an estate.
  • Ye Qing traded the Grass Gem to Dragon Tamer for a Dragon Gem and learned that the estate paperwork would go through the Shanhai City Trainer Association.
  • Ye Qing returned home, introduced Haunter as a new companion, and watched the other Pokémon greet him uneasily.

Ch. 324Plans

Ye Qing learned that the Trainer Association was awarding him an estate in Shanhai City's Botanical Garden, giving him a new home after his Pokémon repeatedly wrecked the yard. As his family prepared to move, Ye Qing planned to resume his journey and train for the approaching National Tournament.

  • Psyduck attacked Aerodactyl with Confusion after Gible bit his head, and Haunter copied him by knocking Marowak out of his sleep.
  • Zhang Yan told Ye Qing the Trainer Association had awarded him the right to live in and renovate an estate in the Botanical Garden, but not to sell or sublet it.
  • Ye Qing told Wang Yao and his family that he would move to the estate, and Wang Yao hurried away after making a mysterious phone call.
  • Old Master and Zhao Ziran announced they would leave for home the next morning, while Zhao Ziran promised to challenge Ye Qing again after his Dragonair evolved.
  • Ye Qing reflected on his four Badges and the approaching National Tournament, then told his Pokémon to wait until they had moved before roughhousing again.

Ch. 325The manor

Ye Qing moved with his mother and Pokémon into a manor in Shanhai City's Botanical Garden. He then agreed to let researchers study his Aerodactyl under strict safety conditions, preparing for a journey to the dangerous Forbidden Ridge.

  • Ye Qing and his mother moved their belongings to the manor with help from Aerodactyl, Psyduck, Gardevoir, Aggron, and Milotic.
  • Ye Qing settled into the new home and went shopping for household necessities with his mother the next morning.
  • Ye Qing's grandfather asked to study Aerodactyl, and Ye Qing agreed in exchange for Pokéblocks and TMs after setting conditions to protect Aerodactyl.
  • Ye Qing planned to take Secret Power to the Forbidden Ridge, where Pokémon could create Secret Bases to survive the freezing conditions.

Ch. 326Forbidden Ridge

Ye Qing prepared Gardevoir and Gible for his trip, then traveled to the snowy city near Forbidden Ridge. He and Gardevoir reached the ridge’s boundary, where they faced a vast forest, deep snow, and warnings against flying.

  • Ye Qing had Gardevoir learn a move by watching a video, and she successfully hollowed out a tree on her second attempt.
  • Gible tried to bite into a tree trunk, got his teeth stuck, and needed Psyduck to pull him free.
  • Ye Qing said goodbye to his mom, flew to the city closest to Forbidden Ridge, and bought warm clothes and hiking boots.
  • Gardevoir carried Ye Qing toward Forbidden Ridge using Teleport, stopping to rest and eat Pokéblocks along the way.
  • Ye Qing and Gardevoir reached the ridge’s boundary and saw warnings against flying over its many wild Pokémon territories.
  • Gardevoir stepped into the deep snow to explore it, while Ye Qing sank into it.

Ch. 327Entering the Forest

Ye Qing entered the Forbidden Ridge with his Pokémon to train Gible and Lairon, but the group soon found signs of a dangerous Beartic. The chapter ended with Ye Qing discovering a mangled corpse beneath a tree.

  • Ye Qing brought Infernape, Lairon, Gible, and Haunter out into the snowy forest, and Haunter accidentally paralyzed him with Lick after tasting a Top-tier Pokéblock.
  • Ye Qing recovered with Gardevoir's Paralyze Heal, then sent Lairon and Gible to clear a path through the dense forest while Infernape and Gardevoir guarded him.
  • Ye Qing found frozen blood and enormous footprints in the snow, and Gardevoir confirmed there were no unfamiliar life-forms nearby.
  • Ye Qing followed the bloodstains for a kilometer and found a mangled corpse beneath a tree, surrounded by enormous bear-paw prints.

Ch. 328A survivor?

Ye Qing and his Pokémon followed human footprints through the snowy forest and found a boy trapped in a tree by a powerful Beartic. When the boy’s Pokémon were overwhelmed, Ye Qing intervened, and Gible launched a ranged attack as the battle began.

  • Gardevoir spotted human footprints, and Ye Qing followed them with his Pokémon through the snow.
  • Ye Qing found a boy in a tree while Beartic attacked him; the boy’s Sealeo and Glaceon were already unable to battle.
  • Ye Qing identified Beartic as level 43 and planned for Gible and Lairon to attack with Gardevoir’s support while Infernape guarded him.
  • Beartic knocked Excadrill away and charged at the boy’s Pignite, forcing Ye Qing to order his Pokémon into the fight.
  • Gardevoir used Confusion to send Lairon crashing into Beartic, but the impact sent Lairon flying; Gible then attacked with Dragon Rage.

Ch. 329Beartic

Ye Qing’s Gible and Lairon used a Sandstorm ambush to defeat Beartic. After the battle, Ye Qing saw that both Pokémon had broken through, with Lairon reaching level thirty-one.

  • Beartic shattered Gardevoir’s Confusion wall with a powerful punch, forcing Gardevoir back.
  • Gible and Lairon raised a Sandstorm to obscure Beartic’s vision and disrupt his sense of smell while Gardevoir protected them.
  • Gible burrowed underground to track Beartic as Lairon hid in the storm and prepared an ambush.
  • Lairon trapped Beartic with Rock Tomb, and Gible made the ground collapse beneath him.
  • Gible hit Beartic with Dragon Breath as Lairon struck him with Body Slam, then the two used Rock Slide and Rock Climb to defeat him.
  • Ye Qing checked their information and found that both Pokémon had broken through, with Lairon at level thirty-one.

Ch. 330We're all brothers here

Ye Qing rescued Zhang Tuzhen from Beartic and discovered the boy had run away from home rather than been kidnapped. After learning Zhang Tuzhen was Gym Leader Zhang’s son, Ye Qing decided to take him home while preparing to challenge the Ice and Snow Gym.

  • Gible reached level nineteen after Ye Qing and his Pokémon defeated Beartic with Sandstorm’s help.
  • Ye Qing brought Zhang Tuzhen down from a tree and questioned him after moving to a safer clearing.
  • Gardevoir signaled that Zhang Tuzhen was lying, and Ye Qing found the boy’s Pokémon had black-market Poké Balls.
  • Zhang Tuzhen confessed that he had snuck away from home and hired five Trainers to escort him into Forbidden Ridge.
  • Ye Qing learned Zhang Tuzhen was Gym Leader Zhang’s son and offered to take him home on the way to challenge the Ice and Snow Gym.
  • Zhang Tuzhen asked Ye Qing to have Gardevoir Teleport him out of Forbidden Ridge, but Ye Qing refused to let him go alone.

Ch. 331Secret Base (Thanks to Wangyou for the god-tier endorsement!)

Ye Qing escorted Zhang Tuzhen deeper into the Forbidden Ridge as night brought snow and freezing winds, then used Gardevoir to create a Secret Base beside a river. He had Gible clear the loosened earth, leaving the group sheltering in their newly made hideout.

  • Ye Qing refused to let Zhang Tuzhen leave alone and took him toward the Ice and Snow Gym, where Zhang Tuzhen reluctantly agreed to follow.
  • Ye Qing introduced himself as they traveled through the Forbidden Ridge and had Gible practice slashing branches with his claws.
  • Zhang Tuzhen warned that Gible was too young to learn Dragon Claw, but Ye Qing explained that Pokémon could develop differently from the data in a Pokédex.
  • As night fell, snow and fierce winds forced the group to stop, so Gardevoir used Teleport to take them to a nearby river.
  • Ye Qing had Gardevoir use Secret Power to create a shelter in the ground, then asked Gible to eat the loosened soil.

Ch. 332Infernape: Have some decency, you guys

Ye Qing and Zhang Tuzhen sheltered from the blizzard in a cave, shared food, and managed Haunter after it frightened Zhang Tuzhen. The next morning, Ye Qing led the group deeper into Forbidden Ridge for training, while a ghostly Pokémon followed them through the snow.

  • Ye Qing had Lairon block the cave opening with Rock Tomb, and the group warmed up while Gible slept after eating dirt.
  • Ye Qing shared his food and liquor with Zhang Tuzhen, then used Infernape’s head flames to cook sausages while Gardevoir helped turn them.
  • Haunter emerged from Ye Qing’s shadow to steal bread, frightened Zhang Tuzhen, and received a warning from Ye Qing to stay hidden around outsiders.
  • Ye Qing’s grandfather and Professor Qian arrived in Shanhai City, where Ye Mom and Aerodactyl greeted them and Psyduck eyed Professor Qian warily.
  • The next morning, Ye Qing opened the cave and led Zhang Tuzhen onward through the blizzard, planning to train his Pokémon before reaching the Ice and Snow Castle.
  • A ghostly Pokémon drifted through the blizzard far behind Ye Qing’s group.

Ch. 333The threat in the river

Ye Qing’s Pokémon battled a level 30 Cloyster that attacked from the river, and the fight left Lairon badly injured. With Cloyster using Shell Smash and firing icicles at them, Ye Qing ordered Gible to counter with Rock Climb.

  • Ye Qing’s group encountered a Cloyster hiding in the river, and Lairon and Gible tried to drive it out.
  • Cloyster’s Hydro Pump overwhelmed their attacks, and Haunter blocked the water from hitting Ye Qing.
  • Lairon and Gible fought Cloyster at the river, but Lairon was badly hurt after forcing it onto the bank.
  • Cloyster used Shell Smash and launched a stream of icicles at Lairon, so Ye Qing told Gible to use Rock Climb.

Ch. 334A Bewitching Illusion

Ye Qing and Zhang Tuzhen defeated Cloyster, and Gible reached level twenty and learned Sand Tomb as they traveled toward the Ice and Snow Castle. On the snowy plain, they spotted a Jangmo-o, but Gardevoir stopped them when they suddenly charged at it.

  • Gible swallowed the Dragon Gem, used Outrage to defeat Cloyster, and continued attacking until his frenzy wore off.
  • Gible reached level twenty and learned Sand Tomb, and Ye Qing gave him and Lairon Golden Pokéblocks.
  • Ye Qing and Zhang Tuzhen set out toward the Ice and Snow Castle, battling hungry Pokémon along the way as snow and hail intensified.
  • Ye Qing and Zhang Tuzhen spotted a Jangmo-o on the snowy plain and abruptly charged toward it.
  • Gardevoir sensed danger, blocked the group with Confusion, and held them back as Ye Qing and Zhang Tuzhen demanded that she let them reach Jangmo-o.

Ch. 335Froslass

Ye Qing and his companions discovered that the Jangmo-o was an illusion created by a level 53 Froslass, which trapped them in a snowy maze and restrained Gardevoir with Disable. Ye Qing chose to fight instead of flee, and Milotic began changing the weather with Rain Dance as the group prepared to face Froslass.

  • Gardevoir dispelled the illusion, revealing a terrifying Froslass in a dark, snowbound maze.
  • Ye Qing checked Froslass’s status and realized that her Block and Disable made escape impossible.
  • Ye Qing sent out Milotic and told Zhang Tuzhen to release his Pokémon to protect himself and Gardevoir.
  • Milotic used Rain Dance, causing rain to clash with Froslass’s hail and making her figure faintly visible.
  • Ye Qing’s Pokémon prepared to attack while Gardevoir struggled against Disable and Zhang Tuzhen’s Pokémon braced themselves under Froslass’s pressure.

Ch. 336Fight to the Death

Ye Qing and his Pokémon fought Froslass in the blizzard, enduring her powerful attacks while looking for openings to counter. With Gardevoir’s Encore restricting Froslass to Ice Shard, Infernape’s Blaze activated and he charged in as Milotic and Lairon supported him.

  • Infernape attacked Froslass, but she blasted him away with Ice Shard, then confused Gardevoir and struck Lairon with another ice attack.
  • Milotic froze her own wave, while Gible’s Sand Attack missed; Infernape used Quick Guard to save Gible and landed a Fire Punch on Froslass.
  • Froslass retaliated by slapping Infernape away and blocking Milotic’s Aqua Tail, while Gardevoir recovered from confusion.
  • Gardevoir used Encore on Froslass, and Haunter destroyed an Ice Shard aimed at Ye Qing before Gardevoir redirected the fragments at Froslass.
  • Ye Qing refused Zhang Tuzhen’s plea to flee; Infernape’s Blaze ignited, and he charged Froslass as Lairon used Rock Tomb.
  • Froslass remained limited to Ice Shard by Encore, but Milotic shattered the ice ball aimed at Lairon with her tail, injuring it in the process.

Ch. 337Danger at Every Turn

Ye Qing and Zhang Tuzhen’s group nearly defeated Froslass, but a hidden Glalie ambushed them and froze Gardevoir. The chapter ended with Ye Qing facing the level 67 Glalie, whose strength overwhelmed his team.

  • Ye Qing’s Pokémon battered Froslass with coordinated attacks while Haunter cursed her and Infernape used Encore to restrict her moves.
  • Froslass unleashed an enormous Ice Ball at Ye Qing and Zhang Tuzhen as the attacks struck her and the curse brought her down.
  • Gardevoir teleported Ye Qing and Zhang Tuzhen away from the Ice Ball, while the blast incapacitated most of their Pokémon.
  • Gardevoir protected Ye Qing and Zhang Tuzhen from a sudden attack, but a bone-chilling wind shattered her defenses and froze her.
  • Ye Qing saw that the attacker was a healthy level 67 Glalie.

Ch. 338Captured

Glalie froze Ye Qing and his Pokémon, then Froslass dragged them away while sparing Zhang Tuzhen after recognizing the Ice and Snow Badge. Ye Qing remained trapped in his ice sculpture, while Zhang Tuzhen was left alone on the snowy field as a hungry Mightyena approached.

  • Ye Qing and his Pokémon attacked Glalie while Haunter hid in Ye Qing's shadow, but Glalie froze Lairon, Milotic, Infernape, and Ye Qing.
  • Froslass stopped Glalie from freezing Zhang Tuzhen after showing him the Ice and Snow Badge, and Glalie left Zhang Tuzhen behind.
  • Froslass dragged Ye Qing and the other frozen Pokémon away, while Ye Qing stayed hidden inside his ice sculpture and noticed Gible was missing.
  • Zhang Tuzhen woke to find himself alone with his injured Pokémon and began crying as a hungry Mightyena approached.

Ch. 339Way to Go, Gible!

Gible rescued Zhang Tuzhen from a wounded Mightyena and defeated it, then ate Pokéblocks and helped the other Pokémon recover. After Zhang Tuzhen recalled his exhausted Pokémon, Gible sniffed the air, leaving their next move undecided.

  • Mightyena approached the helpless Zhang Tuzhen, who reasoned that the injured predator was probably alone.
  • Gible burst out of the snow, knocked Mightyena down, and attacked him with Twister, Sand Tomb, Dragon Breath, and Dragon Rage.
  • Gible defeated Mightyena and reached level 21, nearing evolution into Gabite.
  • Gible ate Pokéblocks to restore his stamina, while Zhang Tuzhen fed his Pokémon and Glaceon recovered first.
  • Zhang Tuzhen recalled his other Pokémon and asked Gible what to do, and Gible sniffed the air.

Ch. 340Rescue operation

Gible tracked the Glalie through the snow while Ye Qing struggled with the cold, and Wang Yao uncovered an infiltrator at the Shanhai City Research Institute. The chapter ended with Blaziken training beside lava, Ye Qing reflected in his eyes.

  • Gible led Zhang Tuzhen underground and tunneled after his trainer, while Ye Qing shivered as Haunter tried to warm him.
  • Wang Yao refused the Ponytail Researcher’s invitation and ordered everyone at the research institute to be searched.
  • Gardevoir identified the young researcher as a mole, and the Security Officers arrested him before he could steal Aerodactyl’s research data.
  • Wang Yao dismissed Girl’s attempts to distract him, and Psyduck resumed guarding Aerodactyl.
  • Blaziken trained beside lava, shattered a stone pillar, and saw Ye Qing reflected in his pupils.
