"Inuyasha, are you all right?" Han stepped forward to support Inuyasha, who had fallen to his knees, and asked with some concern.

"Yeah, I'm fine." Inuyasha wiped the faint traces of blood from his face, wounds left by the pressure of Sesshomaru's blade during their fight. An evil sword like Sōunga would only drain its wielder's life, never protect Sōunga.

Just then, Kagome, who had returned from the modern era, finally arrived with Sango and Miroku.

"Inuyasha!" Kagome jumped off Kirara's back before she landed. She nearly stumbled as her feet touched the ground, but paid herself no mind, her attention fixed entirely on Inuyasha. She hurried over, took him from Han, and draped his arm over her shoulders. "Inuyasha, are you all right? Did Sōunga hurt you?" she asked anxiously. The faint, savage look on his face when he had left the modern era-an expression she had never seen before-still filled her with worry.

"Yeah, I'm all right now." With Kagome's support, Inuyasha staggered to his feet and gave Han an awkward nod. "Thanks... for this." He knew that without Han and Sesshomaru, he could never have escaped Sōunga's control so easily. But thanking Sesshomaru was absolutely out of the question, so he thanked only Han.

"It's all right." Han smiled and shook her head, then looked down into the abyss. "Just what is that sword...?"

"Sōunga. Father's last fang," Sesshomaru said gravely. "I would also like to know, Inuyasha. Where did you find this sword that vanished so long ago...?" Back when he had been searching for Tessaiga, he had wanted Sōunga as well. But his father's old friends had been even more tight-lipped about Sōunga than Tessaiga, so he had focused solely on finding Tessaiga.

"Ah, that happened two hundred years ago, just after your father died."
