Xu Taiping asked in some surprise:
"It can actually raise my chances by ten percent? Then if I refine a few more Natal Treasures, wouldn't I be able to raise them even further?"
Venerable Jiaye gave a helpless smile and said:
"With your Heaven Gazing Realm cultivation, you can refine no more than three treasures. Although these four Thunder Sound Banners form a set, they still count as at least two."
Hearing this, Xu Taiping said with some regret:
"Then it seems I'll have to find another way."
Venerable Jiaye nodded and said:
"Once you break through to the Heaven Shocking Realm, you can consider refining a few more Natal Treasures. But with Natal Treasures, better to go without than settle for inferior ones. Never covet quantity."
Xu Taiping immediately nodded at his words and said:
"Thank you for your guidance, Venerable Jiaye."
He had originally thought that if he could refine the Blade of Guicang, he might be able to raise his chances by another ten percent.
But judging from Venerable Jiaye's words, his current cultivation probably would not allow him to refine the Blade of Guicang.
After pondering briefly, Xu Taiping murmured:
"Since I can't improve my chances of successfully breaking through by strengthening myself, I can only rely on outside help."
Aside from the treasures just mentioned, the only outside help he currently had was the Blade of Guicang, the Life-and-Death Seal, and the still-slumbering Lotus Eye.
Just as Xu Taiping was considering how to make good use of these treasures, Venerable Jiaye suddenly spoke again beside him:
"Benefactor Taiping, on the day of your breakthrough, I can use the entire Jiaye Hall to guard you."
Xu Taiping was overjoyed to hear this and immediately said:
"Thank you, Venerable Jiaye."
But Venerable Jiaye shook his head and
