Just as Gu Yu stood dazed, another splash rang out, and Dongfang Yuejian plunged into the Underground River as well.
Unlike Gu Yu, however, Dongfang Yuejian had sensed the demonic aura of the Catfish Demon the instant she entered the water.
"Gu Yu, stand still in the water!"
After shouting this, Dongfang Yuejian drew the Spring and Autumn Brush and swept it forcefully through the water.
"Boom!"
In an instant, amid the deafening roar of rushing water, a mass of water gathered into an enormous sphere and shot toward the Catfish Demon.
"Bang!"
With a tremendous crash, the water sphere struck the Catfish Demon so hard that its entire body flipped backward.
At the sight, the heart lodged in Gu Yu's throat finally settled.
Then Dongfang Yuejian made another stroke with the Spring and Autumn Brush around herself and Gu Yu.
Immediately, a water sphere with a crystalline sheen enveloped them both.
"Bang, bang!"
Almost the instant the crystalline sphere enveloped them, two enormous Catfish Demons slammed into it in succession.
Yet the crystalline sphere Dongfang Yuejian had summoned suffered not the slightest damage. Instead, the instant the Catfish Demons struck, countless densely packed water spikes thrust from it, piercing hundreds of holes in the two demons.
Looking at the corpses of the two Catfish Demons, Gu Yu asked Dongfang Yuejian, still visibly shaken:
"Eastern High Immortal, didn't you say there was a Serpent Demon down here? Where did all these huge catfish come from?"
As Dongfang Yuejian directed the current to propel them swiftly toward the exit, she explained:
"When we came down last time, there was nothing in this Underground River Passage, much less vicious giant catfish like these."
Gu Yu immediately added:
"They can even speak human language!"
Dongfang Yuejian had not heard the Catfish Demon
