But given the Blood Ancestor's past "misdeeds," Xu Taiping still did not readily believe him and prepared to test him again.
He withdrew the Golden Flame and 𩙥 Flame he had sent into the gourd, then rose and headed outside, warning the Blood Ancestor as he walked:
"Blood Ancestor, if even a single word of yours is false, what I send into the gourd next won't be 𩙥 Flame or Golden Flame, but thunderflame."
The Blood Ancestor said furiously:
"Xu Taiping, don't push me too far!!!"
Xu Taiping smiled.
"Blood Ancestor, surely you know what sort of character you are?"
As he spoke, he had already left the room and was heading straight for the entrance to the Dragon-Trapping Tower.
Just before reaching the entrance, Xu Taiping suddenly stopped, raised the red gourd in his hand, and sought confirmation from the Blood Ancestor once more:
"Blood Ancestor, don't think I truly know nothing about the Southern Heavenly Gate Ruins. If I discover you've deceived me again after I step outside, don't accuse me of pushing you too far."
As he spoke, electric sparks suddenly flickered over the hand holding the gourd.
The Blood Ancestor gave no response, as though he had not heard.
But just as Xu Taiping placed his hand on the entrance to the Dragon-Trapping Tower, ready to push it open and leave, the Blood Ancestor shouted:
"Wait!"
Xu Taiping's heart jolted, and he thought:
That bastard really was still being dishonest. Good thing I tested him again before leaving the tower.
Then Xu Taiping said calmly:
"Oh? Blood Ancestor, is there something you left out and haven't told me?"
The Blood Ancestor snorted.
"That Blood Skeleton Head can indeed guide you to Dumu Palace. But rather than injecting true essence into it, you must put enough Gold
