As the pavilion’s barrier weakened under the Blightbone’s attack, Qu Chao Ci fought off her former fellow disciples, and Sun Yu vowed to fight her and her master to mutual destruction.

• Xie Wangyan offered to make the Taisu Valley disciples invisible to the Blightbone in exchange for the valley’s inheritance, and Sun Yu urged them to kill Bai Cao Xuan and take Qu Chao Ci with them.

• The Red-Eyed Blightbone crushed Bai Yue and Mo Qingzhu with a fold in space, but the Heaven-Hunting Great Sage caught them and carried them back to the peak.
• Qu Chao Ci and Bai Cao Xuan thanked the Heaven-Hunting Great Sage for saving them, and he checked on Qu Chao Ci before asking about Bai Cao Xuan's injuries.
• Bai Cao Xuan admitted he could not travel and begged the Heaven-Hunting Great Sage to take Qu Chao Ci out of Kaiyang Heaven, but Qu Chao Ci insisted on staying with her master.
• Xu Taiping said Xiaohei would recover enough to run in about the time it took to brew a cup of tea, so the Heaven-Hunting Great Sage decided they would fight the Blightbones while they waited.
• The Red-Eyed Blightbone stood atop the Dragon-Skeleton Blightbone's head and roared toward the group.

Xu Taiping and the Heaven-Hunting Great Sage fought off several blightbones, but Qu Chao Ci realized Xie Wangyan and Blood Zen Dharma Master were preparing a sneak attack. Xu Taiping and the Great Sage repelled the attackers, who escaped to the horizon.

• Xu Taiping used the Demon Ancestor phantom image's Sea-Swallowing Seal to absorb the Dragon-Skeleton Blightbone's breath and blast the two Griffin Blightbones.
• The Heaven-Hunting Great Sage knocked aside the Red-Eyed Blightbone's sword, but none of the three blightbones were seriously harmed.
• Qu Chao Ci remembered the danger and warned Xu Taiping and the Heaven-Hunting Great Sage of a sneak attack.
• Xie Wangyan used Mountains and Rivers as a Cage while Blood Zen Dharma Master attacked Xu Taiping with his Blood Buddha Buddhist Dharma Form.
• Xu Taiping switched places with the Heaven-Hunting Great Sage, broke Xie Wangyan's spell with his true dragon forbidden domain, and joined the Great Sage in striking both attackers.
• Xie Wangyan used Dashing Beyond the Dust to retreat with Blood Zen Dharma Master.

Xu Taiping and the Heaven-Hunting Great Sage repelled the Blightbones while Xie Wangyan lured a vast horde to the lone peak. As at least a thousand Blightbones closed in, the two prepared to turn the danger into a chance to hunt powerful Blightbones and keep Xie Wangyan and the Blood Zen Dharma Master trapped.

• Bai Cao Xuan and Qu Chao Ci mistakenly credited the Heaven-Hunting Great Sage with predicting Xie Wangyan’s and the Blood Zen Dharma Master’s attacks, while the Great Sage praised Xu Taiping’s ability to deduce them.
• The Red-Eyed Blightbone and other powerful Blightbones attacked the lone peak, and Xu Taiping used the Heaven-Supporting Form while the Heaven-Hunting Great Sage fought beside him.
• Xie Wangyan and the Blood Zen Dharma Master stayed back, apparently waiting for the Blightbones to weaken Xu Taiping’s group, so the Heaven-Hunting Great Sage decided to keep them there and hunt more Blightbones.
• Xu Taiping and the Heaven-Hunting Great Sage agreed to divide the powerful Blightbones’ remains, with Xu Taiping claiming half, especially the dragon skeleton, and the Great Sage claiming Red-Eyed.
• Xie Wangyan revealed that he had used his world-deceiving power to lure every Blightbone within a hundred li, bringing at least a thousand toward the lone peak.
• Bai Cao Xuan urged the Heaven-Hunting Great Sage to flee, but the Great Sage and Xu Taiping told the others to stay back while they handled the incoming horde.
