Xu Taiping, Qu Chao Ci, and Xiahou You worked together against Luo Hong and Xu San of Three Corpses Cave, but Xu San trapped Xu Taiping in the Immortal-Fixing Mirror. As Luo Hong attacked the immobilized Xu Taiping, Qu Chao Ci and Xiahou You moved to intervene.
Xu Taiping broke Luo Hong’s restraint with his true dragon power and severed his arm, but Xu San shielded Luo Hong behind regenerating palm shadows. As a terrifying presence approached, Qu Chao Ci recognized its aura and realized the arriving elder was someone other than Tie Hancang.
The Heaven-Hunting Great Sage arrived at the Void-Passing Platform and revealed that Tie Hancang had summoned the Immortal Remains and Blightbone from the lower levels. He urged Xu Taiping to reach the Void Essence Jade Platform and obtain the Wuqu Token, leaving Xu Taiping to follow Qu Chao Ci toward the way up.
Xu Taiping and the others raised the Void-Passing Platform toward the Void Essence Jade Platform, knowing they would have to split the weak-water torrent that guarded its entrance. As the sky opened and the water began to fall, Xu Taiping prepared to test whether he could form a new killing blade capable of cutting through it.
Xu Taiping unleashed the Ultimate Realm Heaven-Opening Form and split the Heavenly River waterfall of Weak Water from the Void-Passing Platform to its entrance in the sky. Xu San and Luo Hong watched in shock as his power surpassed their own.
Xu Taiping and his companions reached the Void Essence Jade Platform, where a giant carp asked them to state their purpose. When Xu Taiping requested a Wuqu Token and a Fire-Repelling Pill, the carp recognized that he intended to challenge the Kaiyang Wuqu Star Lord’s Ten Thousand Armies Battle Formation.
Xu Taiping resolved to end the Blightbone disaster by challenging Wuqu Star Lord’s ten-thousand-strong Military Formation. After learning how difficult the trial would be, he arrived at the ruined battlefield and heard Wuqu Star Lord command his troops to form ranks.
Xu Taiping and Bai Yue faced Wuqu Star Lord’s test to prove they could challenge him. Bai Yue failed to withstand Divine General Po Jun’s strike, and Po Jun challenged Xu Taiping to take his own.
Xu Taiping defeated Divine General Po Jun with the Heaven-Shaking Fist while conserving his saber and scarce powers for Wuqu Star Lord. Wuqu Star Lord accepted Xu Taiping’s challenge and set a ten-move test for winning the Wuqu Token.
Xu Taiping used blood qi body tempering to execute the ultimate-realm Heavenly Wrath Style and challenge the Wuqu Star Lord within the ten-move limit. After exchanging hundreds of punches, he merged the force of his first nine hundred strikes into a golden gauntlet, leaving the battle poised to intensify.
Xu Taiping failed to break Wuqu Star Lord’s punch and was saved from severe injury by the Dragon Vault Armor, but he saw the trial as a chance to improve his fist techniques. He launched a second Heaven-Shaking Fist, leaving Xiahou You and the others worried that he might lose control again.
Xu Taiping overcame Wuqu Star Lord’s fist force and learned that fist force, fist intent, and fist aura ultimately existed to temper his fists. After passing Wuqu Star Lord’s test and receiving a Wuqu Token, Xu Taiping asked to borrow one more thing despite being warned that challenging the Star Lord’s battle formation would mean certain death.
Xu Taiping rejected Wuqu Star Lord’s offer to pass and explained that the Fire-Repelling Pill was vital to reviving the Jade Mother’s divine intent. As Wuqu’s ten-thousand-strong formation prepared to attack, Xu Taiping gathered his companions’ battle intent and began drawing the wandering Immortal Remains into his own formation.
Xu Taiping tried to command more than six thousand Immortal Remains to resist Wuqu Star Lord’s ten-thousand-strong formation, but their refusal and the enemy’s rising battle intent threatened to overwhelm him. He answered their contempt for his mortal body by unleashing a vast battle intent, appearing almost like a deity.
Xu Taiping rallied the Immortal Remains by answering what they should fight for, then led them in forming a battle intent powerful enough to oppose Wuqu Star Lord’s army. The seven thousand Immortal Remains and his companions joined his call to battle, manifesting a towering armored general as the fight began.
Xu Taiping formed a defensive battle formation with the seven thousand Immortal Remains and held off Wuqu Star Lord’s first charge. The opposing Ten Thousand Armies Battle Formation resumed advancing, leaving the two forces locked in a mounting contest.
Xu Taiping drew on the strength of his formation to break Wuqu Star Lord's first charge and halt the Ten Thousand Armies Battle Formation. As both sides rebuilt their battle intent, Xu Taiping commanded his forces to form the Cross Vajra Slaughter Formation.
Xu Taiping assembled the Cross Vajra Slaughter Formation and led its charge against Wuqu Star Lord’s Ten Thousand Armies Battle Formation. With his formation gaining the advantage, Xu Taiping drew in its battle strength and prepared to unleash the Heaven-Opening Form.
Xu Taiping defeated the Wuqu Star Lord’s Ten Thousand Armies Battle Formation and received the Fire-Avoidance Pearl. The Wuqu Star Lord revealed that Jade Mother had foreseen his defeat and that he would aid the one who overcame him, before a bolt of thunder struck him.
Xu Taiping learned that the Jade Mother's edicts vanished after cultivators completed her trials and that the Wuqu Star Lord's divine intent was fading. He assembled a military formation to face a coming Blightbone attack, then told the Heaven-Hunting Great Sage to bring the charging Immortal Remains to him.
Tie Hancang led Luo Hong and Xu San onto the Void Essence Jade Platform after sensing that the Jade Mother's Edict had shattered, then used seventy thousand Blightbones to corner the Heaven-Hunting Great Sage. The chapter ended with Tie Hancang confronting Ding at the foot of a mist-shrouded hill.
Xu Taiping and the Heaven-Hunting Great Sage fought Tie Hancang’s Blightbone horde with two Ten Thousand Armies Battle Formations. Xu Taiping revealed an ambush of twenty thousand immortal remains and led both formations in a renewed charge.
Xu Taiping’s two military formations crushed the Blightbone horde and overwhelmed Luo Hong and Xu San, but the Heaven-Hunting Great Sage warned him not to kill them yet. The Great Sage then revealed the terrifying power he had been suppressing with Sea-Suppressing Seals, leaving Tie Hancang facing a new threat.
The Heaven-Hunting Great Sage gave Xu Taiping the recovered Glazed Fragments and Immortal Remains, then stopped Tie Hancang from escaping with Xu San and Luo Hong. He forced Tie Hancang to surrender the Sacred Land Relics he had collected and demanded information about Supreme Venerable Xuanwei’s operation, as well as Tie Hancang’s Divine Essence for Xu Taiping to use Heavenly Secrets Power of Deduction.
The Heaven-Hunting Great Sage forced Tie Hancang to sacrifice all his divine essence to aid Xu Taiping’s Heavenly Secrets Deduction, despite Tie Hancang’s warning that the power could overwhelm him. When Xu Taiping reached for Tie Hancang, the Lotus Eye took control and unleashed azure flames that began consuming Tie Hancang’s divine essence.
