The Demon Ancestor and Lin Buyan held him back while Xu Taiping received the Kunwu Sword and was sent into the past, where he met a young Fairy Lingyue.

• Fairy Lingyue took Kunwu from Nangong Yu, and Xu Taiping’s group entered the fourth dream layer to face Yuqiu Heavenly Venerable’s Tianxing Great Slaughter Formation.
• Xu Taiping found and sealed the formation’s life gates while Lin Buyan, Dugu Qingxiao, and Lady Jade Mother helped him survive Yuqiu’s attacks.

• Xu Taiping viewed the Divine Soul Mark’s memories of ordinary people sacrificing themselves to keep him alive, overcame the Immortal Seed’s call to ascend, and faced the Jade Emperor with renewed resolve.
• The Demon Ancestor gave his life fighting the Jade Emperor, while Xu Taiping wielded Taiyi to drain the Sanxuan Realm’s power and wear down the Jade Emperor’s Origin of the Great Dao.
• Xu Taiping and his allies used the Thunder Sound Five-Direction Earth-Splitting Formation and attacked the Mystic Yellow Bell, but Lin Buyan sacrificed herself and Ni Zhao, Xiaohei, and others were gravely harmed or lost.
