You Think What You're Holding Is Vibranium?
Luo Wen reclined in his chair, pondering what price he should sell this ten-kilogram piece of Level 3 Kroll Alloy to Stark for.
Tony was loaded. Even if he quoted a hundred million, Tony might still buy it.
But Luo Wen did not want to do that.
After all, he planned to start a company specializing in the sale of Kroll Alloy.
If he sold it to Tony for ten million dollars per kilogram, what price could he charge everyone else later? If he sold it too cheaply, he would completely offend Tony.
Luo Wen was still counting on the Arc Reactor to charge the Teleportation Ring.
So, the price he gave Tony definitely had to match the price at which he would sell Kroll Alloy afterward.
"This ten-kilogram piece of Level 3 Kroll Alloy is worth 400,000 Chinese Yuan in the Swallowed Star world. If I bring it to the Marvel world, I'll sell it for four million dollars."
Luo Wen thought.
Four million dollars for ten kilograms worked out to four hundred dollars per gram.
The current international gold price was around forty dollars per gram.
This price was roughly ten times that of gold, already quite high.
In truth, Luo Wen could have priced Kroll Alloy even higher, such as one hundred million per kilogram.
But there would be no market for that at all.
After all, Kroll Alloy's greatest use was in making melee weapons.
And the Marvel world had no demand in that area.
Only by setting a reasonable price could he expand sales and make money quickly.
Luo Wen's current goal was to make money quickly, not to make money over the long term. Once his strength reached Planetary Level, Earth's wealth would be of little use to him.
"As long as Tony's Iron Man Armor uses Kroll Alloy, I won't have to worry about sales."
Not long ago, Tony had announced at a press conference that he was Iron Man, and over the past period, he had been relentlessly cracking down on terrorists in the Middle East.
The power of the Iron Man Armor had left countries around the world envious, and they were all secretly trying to replicate it.
As long as Tony bought his Kroll Alloy, it would be the same as Iron Man becoming his spokesperson for free. It would be hard for business to go badly.
After thinking it through, Luo Wen took out his phone, found Coulson's number in his contacts, and called him.
Luo Wen and Coulson were very familiar with each other and had a good relationship.
"Hello? Luo Wen." Coulson's gentle, steady voice soon came through the phone.
"Hey, Coulson."
"Luo Wen, what's up?"
"I heard you're being transferred to New Mexico soon?"
"Yeah. Something unexpected happened over there, so I have to make a trip."
"I was planning to invite you over for hot pot, but it looks like I'll have to wait until you get back from New Mexico."
"Hot pot?" Coulson's tone rose slightly. He chuckled. "Alright, then I'll get back from New Mexico early."
"Haha, I'll be waiting." Luo Wen smiled. Ever since Coulson had eaten hot pot at his home last year, he had become an ultimate enthusiast. "Oh, right. You've been handling Stark Industries assignments lately. Do you have Tony Stark's private number? I need to talk to him about something."
"Tony's private number? I do, but he doesn't like strangers calling it. What do you need him for?" Coulson asked.
"I recently developed a new type of metal. I heard Tony Stark has been acquiring special metal materials lately, so I wanted to contact him."
"I see. Alright, I'll send you his private number in a bit." Coulson thought for a moment and agreed without much hesitation.
He did not actually think Luo Wen could develop a metal material that interested Tony. Giving Luo Wen Tony's private number could very well make Tony unhappy.
But his relationship with Luo Wen was much closer than his relationship with Tony, so he agreed to Luo Wen's request even at the risk of making Tony hold a grudge.
"Okay, thanks!"
Luo Wen hung up, feeling slightly moved.
Coulson was a true brother.
When the Chitauri invaded New York later, he had to save his life.
About two or three seconds later, his phone received a text message from Coulson containing a string of numbers.
Clearly, it was Tony's private number.
Luo Wen called it directly.
Inside a private mansion by the coast, Tony was repairing the Iron Man Armor in his basement.
A few days ago, he had conducted an extreme high-altitude test and had nearly fallen to his death because the outer shell had iced over at high altitude.
Afterward, he replaced the Iron Man Armor's outer shell material with the Gold-Titanium Alloy used by the Seraphim Tactical Satellite.
The replacement had indeed solved the issue of the shell icing over at high altitude, and it had also made the Iron Man Armor lighter overall.
But it had resulted in insufficient defense.
The Gold-Titanium Alloy still wasn't hard enough.
Every live-fire test left the Battle Armor severely damaged.
"Maybe I should build different models of Battle Armor, each with a different focus. For example, some could prioritize defense, some speed, some flight, and so on..."
Tony pondered.
But he didn't think that would be perfect.
After all, battle conditions changed constantly. He couldn't exactly carry every model of Battle Armor with him.
"If only there were a metal that could prevent icing at high altitudes, had exceptional defensive properties, and wasn't so heavy."
Tony sighed inwardly.
As Tony considered various solutions, a phone ringtone suddenly sounded from Jarvis's virtual display.
"Sir, you have a private call."
Jarvis reminded him.
"Who is it?"
Tony asked without turning around.
"Unknown caller."
Only then did Tony put down his repair tools. He turned around and frowned.
"Very few people know my private number. There are only a handful in total. How could I be getting a private call?"
"Jarvis, where is the call coming from?"
"New York."
Tony let out a sigh of relief. As long as it wasn't a threatening call from terrorists.
"Sir, shall I answer it?"
"Put it through." Tony hesitated for a moment before choosing to answer.
"Hello, is this Mr. Tony Stark?" Luo Wen spoke after hearing the call connect.
"This is. Who are you?"
Tony's tone wasn't particularly friendly.
His private number had always been highly confidential. The other party must have used some method to obtain it, which he found deeply offensive.
"Who I am isn't important. I'm calling because I want to discuss a business deal with you. I have..."
"A business deal? Sorry, I'm not interested. If you have something to discuss, contact my assistant. I'm hanging up."
Tony interrupted Luo Wen with a frown before he could finish.
Hearing Tony's words, Luo Wen gave a soft laugh. Tony Stark really did have quite the temper.
"Your Gold-Titanium Alloy's defensive capabilities aren't sufficient, are they?" Luo Wen said quickly.
"Jarvis, hang—"
Tony was just about to tell Jarvis to end the call when Luo Wen's words stopped him.
"What do you mean?" Tony asked with a frown.
"I have an alloy metal better than Gold-Titanium Alloy. It possesses all the advantages of Gold-Titanium Alloy, and its hardness is five times that of Diamond."
"What did you say?" Tony looked utterly incredulous.
He felt that the person on the other end of the call was joking with him.
Gold-Titanium Alloy was already one of the finest alloy metals in the aerospace field, yet the other party claimed his alloy possessed all of Gold-Titanium Alloy's advantages and was five times harder than Diamond. Wasn't that a joke?
