Background / History
Medical service and meeting Tianyang
Xun joins the dangerous Inverse Realm medical service because it pays enough contribution points to help save her ill father. She acknowledges that easier ways to obtain support exist, but refuses to become dependent on someone else at the cost of her freedom 31.
She first meets Tianyang when Luo Shan asks her to bandage his wounds aboard a train. When the train brakes abruptly, Tianyang catches her, leaving both embarrassed. At the outpost base, he later intervenes when Zhou Wang grabs her and attempts to strike her after she rejects his advances. Xun recognizes that Tianyang’s claim to have “his eye on her” is an excuse to intervene, and thanks him 20 24.
During the Metropolis operation, a fleeing man knocks Xun down as a Mad Dog charges toward her. Tianyang kills the creature and directs her back toward the defensive line. She subsequently examines him aboard the field medical vehicle, finding only minor muscle strains 28 31.
Awakening and apprenticeship
Following Han Shu’s arrangement for recovery personnel to touch the Star Marrow Pillar, Xun awakens the rare Radiance Class. The pillar shines with silver light, and streams of starlight surround her. Luo Shan immediately accepts her as a student and promises private lessons after their return 32 33.
Rather than becoming distracted by the celebration, Xun asks whether the apprenticeship includes a stipend: she still has a family to support and a sick father to care for. Luo Shan promises to apply for financial assistance and arrange hospital admission for her father 34.
After Tianyang suffers extensive burns while killing Ghost Car, Xun helps treat him in intensive care. She repeatedly casts Light of Compassion despite the strain on her inexperienced body, then continues treating him as his burned skin gives way to fresh skin 39.
Return to the Fortress
On the return train, Zhou Wang proposes marriage and offers the Zhou Family’s backing. Xun refuses. He then restrains her, covers her mouth, and threatens to force her into marriage. Tianyang intervenes and knocks him unconscious 40 41.
Luo Shan rejects Zhou Wang’s claim that Xun is still a Lower Citizen, explaining that her Upper Citizen status began the moment she awakened, regardless of whether her certification had been issued. Zhou Wang is expelled from the Nightwalkers and handed over to Iron Wall for investigation; his family abandons him and sends an apology to Xun 42.
After returning, Xun receives her Upper Citizen identification. Her father is admitted to the Upper City Medical Center with a caregiver arranged by Luo Shan, who also gives Xun 2,000 contribution points. An application for an Upper City apartment is being processed; approval would allow her to bring two other people to live with her 48.
To thank Tianyang, Xun takes a day off and prepares an elaborate dinner at home with her younger brother, Xiao Jie. Two disguised guards assigned by Luo Shan watch over her nearby. Unaware that Tianyang is heading toward the Upper City to confront Qin Jie over his mother’s death, she waits for a guest who will miss their appointment 48.

Personality
Xun is quiet and composed, tending Tianyang’s wounds without unnecessary conversation. Her reserve does not prevent her from enforcing boundaries: she slaps Zhou Wang after his unwanted advances and later firmly rejects his marriage proposal 20 24 41.
Her independence is a deliberate priority. She chooses hazardous paid work rather than an easier arrangement that would leave her tied to someone else. Even after awakening a celebrated class, her immediate concern is whether she can continue supporting her family 31 34.
She is attentive to patients and openly challenges Han Shu when his enthusiastic shoulder slap hurts the recovering Tianyang. Her gratitude is equally practical: she spends a day preparing a meal to thank Tianyang for protecting her 39 48.
