Night fell.
Outside the dilapidated Spirit Hall in the north of the city, a tall figure appeared. A black sash covered his face, and his eyes were ice-cold as he approached the ruined courtyard step by step.
"Who's there?" Jiang Hai's wary voice rang out.
The figure said coldly, "Little fellow, I hear you have a Soul Bone. Hand it over obediently, and if I'm in a good mood, I might spare your life!"
"You're Zhao Si!" Jiang Hai's expression changed.
"Zhao Si? He isn't worthy. I don't mind telling you-I am the Black-Sash Bandit. If you refuse to cooperate, don't blame me for being ruthless!" the figure said.
The figure was Nangong Ao.
"The Black-Sash Bandit!" Jiang Hai's heart turned ice-cold, but he put on a trembling act and stumbled backward as though he couldn't help himself.
The Black-Sash Bandit was a notorious robber. He had never imagined that the bandit and Nangong Ao were one and the same.
Nangong Ao approached step by step.
"Stay back!" Jiang Hai's face went pale, as though he had been frightened out of his wits.
Nangong Ao laughed loudly. "Just hand over the Soul-"
Before he could finish saying "Bone," a streak of light shot toward him.
"What is that? Damn it!" Nangong Ao's expression changed in alarm. With a low growl, he summoned a jade fan into his hand and blocked the fiery-red streak hurtling toward him. His body shuddered, however, and he staggered, coughing up a mouthful of blood. Six Soul Rings revolved around him-Nangong Ao was actually a Six-Ring Soul Emperor.
Then Nangong Ao glanced at the sword blade broken in two before him and snorted. Realizing something, he demanded, "A Soul Tool? Who are you? Did you lure me here on purpose?"
Jiang Hai didn't answer his question.
