"Huh?"
The unexpected new name left Little Phoenix rather overwhelmed by the favor. He blinked a few times before finally registering it, then sprang up. "Yay! Master, this name works!"
"As long as you like it."
Qian Renyue glanced at him, thinking that Little Phoenix really was easy to placate.
One was merely humoring him, while the other was having the time of his life. "Master, Master, do you still want me to verify what those two said?"
"No."
As Qian Renyue put away the tea set on the table, she said, "Let's wait a while. They've only just cast out this bait. If you go to check now, I'm afraid you won't come back."
"Oh."
Little Nine nodded to show he understood. "Then whenever you want me to go, just tell me, Master. I, Little Nine, will brave boiling water and raging fire without hesitation!"
"..."
Qian Renyue paid little attention to Little Phoenix's grand declaration. As she wiped the table, she thought about the divine runes.
She had checked earlier. Even at the fastest possible pace, cultivating the divine runes would take a full year.
And once she finished cultivating them, a heavenly tribulation would follow. That tribulation would be equivalent to the tribulation lightning that descended when one ascended to godhood-something ordinary people could not withstand.
All the more so when she was only at level forty.
But come to think of it, she had divine thread within her body. Perhaps using that strand of divine thread to withstand the heavenly tribulation might work?
Qian Renyue was so absorbed in her thoughts that she failed to notice someone pushing open the door.
Little Nine looked toward the sound, his face souring. "Master, Show-Off is here!"
"Guang Ling?"
Qian Renyue stopped what she was doing and looked over.
