Just as Xiao Yan moved, a transparent mass of energy shot out of the barrier. With its appearance, piercing sound waves spread through the room in ripples.
Immediately afterward, a piercing sound wave solidified into tangible ripples that radiated in every direction from the energy mass.
Before the eyes of everyone in the room, Xiao Yan, moving at his utmost speed, appeared before the transparent energy mass in barely two blinks. His fingers curved like an eagle's talons as he reached for it with lightning speed.

Sensing the transparent energy mass's almost reflexive dodge, Xiao Yan gave a cold laugh. His sleeve shook, and his arm seemed to lengthen suddenly. With a sweep of his clawlike hand, he caught the transparent ball of light firmly in his palm.
