First, congratulations to myself! My very first novel reached two million total subscriptions and earned a Premium Badge!
After all, there were only one or two Premium Douluo novels with a single female lead, so let me stand here with my hands on my hips for a moment.
Back to the point. First, let me talk about my journey as a writer.
To be honest, I never intended to write a novel at first. Two things led me into a career as a flop of a writer.
First, the ads blanketing everything drove me up the wall.
Second, Jingmi's novel, "Shocking! I Became Bibi Dong."
I wonder if you've noticed how ads constantly pop up on your phone or computer, whether for games or something else.
Last year, wave after wave of ads for Douluo games and the Douluo animated series popped up on my computer every single day.
Even when I watched the Swallowed Star animated series, there was a duel between Tang San and Luo Feng at the end.
As for the original Douluo novel, I'd actually only taken a look at it back in high school. My reaction was just what I wrote in the first three chapters.
By that point, I was really fed up.
So I went to Qidian and browsed a few fanfics.
At the time, every Premium Douluo fanfic on Qidian was a harem story!!!
Personally, I don't read harem stories. (Just a personal preference. Please don't start a flame war.)
After browsing around, I finally found Jingmi's "Shocking! I Became Bibi Dong."
Once I finished it, my view was set: I felt Tang San should be exactly the way Jingmi had written him.
Later, since I had plenty of downtime at work, a thought began to sprout: why not write one myself?
