Lin Yu faces Mu Chen during the tournament’s increasingly competitive stages. His trap forces Mu Chen into the air, where concealed projectiles inflict several wounds. He then envelops them both in black smoke and wounds Mu Chen’s back before a retaliatory palm strike forces him away 18.

An unidentified attacker fires a spiritual energy beam from the arena’s edge, nearly piercing Mu Chen’s shoulder. Lin Yu reacts with delighted surprise and immediately attempts a fatal attack. The passage does not establish any connection between Lin Yu and the outside attacker 18.

Mu Chen survives by using healing resources and drawing energy from the arena’s formation while evading Lin Yu’s dagger.
