This was the image described by the twenty-first Great Arcana of the Tarot Cards, "The World." The Ouroboros represented eternity and the world, while the goddess holding the scepter was regarded by most wizards as belonging to truth.
None of that was the point—these were common facts that even the tricksters of Beta Town North District could explain at length for half an hour, and many of them delighted in such activities.
After all, this was one of the few magical topics tricksters could discuss with real wizards.
The point was that the "World" the Gypsy witch had drawn was reversed, while Zheng Qing's codename in The Wand happened to be "The World."
There could not have been a worse result.
For a moment, Zheng Qing deeply regretted casually going through with this divination. For most wizards, placing their hopes in a few cards, a wisp of smoke, or a Crystal Ball was utterly absurd. Yet if a truly terrible conclusion was divined, no wizard would simply ignore it.
