Or perhaps below was a vast maze, with a savage Sphinx crouching at its entrance and all manner of monsters wandering within. Every step forward would require tremendous effort from him.
But when he walked down the stairs, passed through the mist, and saw a barren expanse of black grass, he could not help but freeze.
The sight before him was very similar to the world he had seen before passing through the narrow door.
The same black grass, the same silence and desolation.
The difference was that at the far end of the grassland, at an extreme distance, stood a towering bronze door. It resembled the black iron door he had seen before, but even from so far away, he could clearly tell that the new door was made of an entirely different material.
