"The claws of that Mutated Huo Dou carried a curse similar to the Bleeding Curse, so he kept losing blood. His condition is dire."
"How long can he hold on?"
"Six hours. Without a catalyst, we can't effectively treat this kind of wound."
"A catalyst?"
"The claws of that monster. When preparing the potion, we need powdered claw as a catalyst to draw out the potion's full effects," the healer explained.
Everyone in the hall rose to their feet at once.
"Sit down!" Colmar snapped sternly. "Danhaag's enforcement team has already set out! In a school this large, it's not your turn to play heroes."
As she spoke, she shot Nicholas, who was sitting against the wall on one side of the hall, a furious glare. Nicholas pretended not to notice. Lowering his eyelids, he stared blankly at the deep claw marks on his arm. Bright red blood flowed steadily from the wounds. Neither dittany, hemostatic talismans, nor the Sweet Dew Spell could stop the bleeding; they could only barely slow it.
He had received those wounds after fighting a Mutated Huo Dou lord. In exchange, he had carved several similar gashes across the Huo Dou's neck with Wind Blades.
Except Wind Blades did not carry the Bleeding Curse.
Hopefully, whoever was controlling those Magical Beasts wouldn't care whether a Huo Dou lived or died. The thought flashed through the young wizard's mind. If that Huo Dou wasn't caught, he would be in serious trouble. Feifei would probably cry herself unconscious.
"Why didn't you withdraw immediately after receiving the order?" The Great Sage of the North District sounded irritated. This scene had never needed to happen.
When that pack of Huo Dous had suddenly appeared behind the flank of the defensive line, she had issued the retreat order at once.
