He had raised them for nearly two years.
Zheng Qing had long since come to regard these little sprites as family.
So when Su Shijun asked that question, he was dazed for a moment before coming back to himself—right, these little sprites had originally belonged to the flight attendant on the Special Plane that had brought them to school. What was her name again?
Su Qijun.
Su Shijun.
The instant those two names flashed through his mind, Zheng Qing connected Su Ya's misunderstanding, the Great Sprites' appearances, and Su Shijun's question, arriving at the final conclusion.
Good thing he had listened to Xiao Xiao and not sent these little ancestors to the girls' dormitory.
He secretly counted his blessings.
The mistress of Qingqiu Mansion had clearly understood the boy's expression and did not press him further. Taking one Great Sprite by the hand, she rubbed the girl's hair and carefully examined her appearance as she casually asked, "...Are you planning to have them live here?"
The Great Sprite she had caught trembled and did not dare move. The two pairs of wings behind her back curled into a stiff ball. The other two Great Sprites shrank behind Zheng Qing, trying their best to diminish their presence. The little sprites, on the other hand, had gotten past their initial panic. Having adjusted to the comfortable, familiar atmosphere around them and been teased by Poseidon, they carefree played hide-and-seek around Zheng Qing.
Hearing Su Shijun's question, Zheng Qing first nodded, then belatedly realized what she was asking.
"You know they're little sprites?"
He pointed at the Great Sprite before him.
Before he could finish, though, Zheng Qing realized how stupid that question was. Pretending not to see Su Ya's contemptuous gaze, he paused, but still could not help asking, "Aren't you curious?"
