Background / History

Poseidon was initially kept by Zheng Qing as a pet fox. Zheng Qing did not realize she was female and regarded her unusual intelligence as that of a particularly capable magical creature. He considered taking her on lake patrols and sought ways to keep her safely under his care. 132

Su Shijun later revealed that Poseidon and “Neptune” are Greek and Latin names for the same individual. Poseidon is Su Shijun’s avatar, created as part of Su Shijun’s attempt to advance to Archwizard; Zheng Qing was told that he was Poseidon’s father through a nontraditional wizarding method of procreation. 192

As Poseidon grew, Zheng Qing and Su Shijun assumed parental and guardian roles. Su Shijun prepared a formal curriculum of compulsory and elective subjects, while Zheng Qing worried over Poseidon’s fees, safety, homework, and supervision. 141 596

Poseidon eventually underwent a transformation ceremony and began appearing as a young fox girl or Little Witch. She later formed the Dongdong Hunting Team with three Great Sprites, Su Ya, a furry dragon, and a gray dog. 494 3340

During the Xuanhuang Small World operations, Poseidon developed her Original Spiritual Light through repeated use of the Ragdoll Fox. After Jiang Yu left Central Base, she spent time with Little Jade, Jiang Yu’s jade incarnation, and followed her into the Sea of Laws.
