The Black Gemstone Cat entered the Sakura Tavern with a furrowed brow and a heavy heart, pondering the connection between those Black Robes, the Solar Eclipse, and Colmar. But no matter how hard it racked its brain, it could not find any link between those terms.
It looked up and saw the tavern owner.
It froze again.
Because Colmar looked very different today. Though she still sat behind the bar, there was neither an opened bottle of rum before her nor Tarot Cards in her hands. She was reading!
That was right. As far as Zheng Qian could remember, this was the first time it had ever seen Colmar reading.
Several Little Stars Shine chased one another beneath the ceiling, scattering silvery starlight throughout the tavern and making the witch's silver hair gleam especially brightly. With her lips pressed together and a Quill Pen in hand, she wore a grave expression as she marked up the book.
"Sit."
Without even raising her head, the witch gave the brief command.
The Black Gemstone Cat climbed onto the bar and obediently sat beside the plate of pastries. Stretching its neck, it tried to sneak a look at what the witch was reading, but as far as the eye could see, every word on the pages was blurred beyond recognition.
It stared hard for quite a while before realizing that this was probably some kind of anti-peeping magic. It meant the tavern owner did not want it to see what was in the book.
The Black Gemstone Cat resentfully pulled its neck back.
It was only an ordinary little cat. When an Archwizard subtly restricted it from doing something, the wise thing to do was obey the Archwizard's arrangements.
But after waiting for a long time, the witch remained busy with her own
