The Work of Edge Academy
The offices in the Office Building were generally identical in size and layout.
A bookcase, a standing cabinet, a desk, plus a tea table and two broad armchairs. If anyone found these standard furnishings unsatisfactory, they could add plants, vases, liquor cabinets, sculptures, workbenches, or even use Spatial Magic to expand the office and turn it into a little garden, and so on.
Zheng Qing had no such thoughts for the time being.
Perhaps because he had grown used to Old Yao's office, he felt the standard setup was quite good enough—another reason he made no changes was that after sitting in the office for an entire morning, he gradually realized that the dean of Edge Academy was not as busy as he had expected. In fact, the job was rather leisurely, and there was no need to rearrange the office for better efficiency.
This was also related to First University's division of responsibilities.
Although First University oversaw five academies, all professors fell under the Professor Joint Conference, all other staff fell under the School Labor Committee, and the vast majority of laboratories belonged to the four Research Institutes.
That left far fewer responsibilities for the academies' administrative systems.
"Dean Yao is busy because, besides serving as dean of Jiuyou Academy, he is also the dean of the School of Magic Philosophy and a professor in several disciplines, including Magic Philosophy. Just grading assignments and papers takes up a great deal of time every day."
Colmar sat across from Zheng Qing's bare desk, briefly explaining the difference between him and Old Yao. At the end, she gave him a particular reminder. "Also, according to regulations, work for the Relevant Department is not permitted in the office. So the way you're busier than Professor Yao is
