A paper crane flapped its wings and flew unhurriedly into the Modern Magic History classroom.
It landed on the edge of the lectern.
Then it put away its wings and stood on one leg, just like a real crane. It bent its neck, tucked its head beneath a wing, and elegantly smoothed the creases in its feathers.
Sima Yangyun frowned slightly, set down the lecture notes in hand, reached out to catch the paper crane, unfolded it, and stared at the message on the paper for several seconds.
Then he looked up.
Facing the curious gazes filling the classroom, his eyes fell on the witch seated in the middle of the front row. "Hermione? Miss Hermione Wesley... please go to the Dean of the Edge's Office immediately."
Hermione rose to her feet in surprise.
But she did not hesitate. After properly bowing to Professor Sima, she quickly left the classroom.
Once outside the door,
her pace instead slowed.
Since she had left class in the middle of a lesson, the corridor was rather empty. Most of the portraits hanging on the walls were dozing, waiting for the students to finish class before waking again. The occasional old wizard who was awake was either drinking tea from a cup or flipping through the book in hand. When they saw someone passing by, they merely lifted their eyelids to glance at her and said nothing.
That alone was far better than Hogwarts.
