An Interrupted Regular Meeting

As usual, at Sunday's regular meeting, Old Yao went through the usual nonsense about studying hard and staying safe, then announced the midterm exam results. Since they had all been in-class tests, their scores had barely affected final credits, and the Hunting Moon had also distracted everyone, no one paid much attention to them.

Unlike usual, though, Old Yao did not inspect everyone's weekly life journals at today's meeting, which came as a relief to many. Instead, he set aside nearly half an hour to lavish praise on the hunters who had participated in the Freshman Competition.

This included Zheng Qing and the others, who had won first place in the Freshman Competition, as well as Dunton and the others, who had gained nothing from the hunt and had not even experienced "death."

However, no matter how enthusiastically he sprayed saliva from the podium, he could not stop some people from daydreaming, others from zoning out, and still others from chatting.
