As usual, the young wizards of You Zui headed straight for the back-left corner of the classroom and took their seats. They always sat there, and everyone else tacitly left the spot alone.
Other little groups had settled into their own routines, too.
Jiang Yu, Liu Feifei, and Li Meng sat together near the front center of the classroom. Dunton and Duan Xiaojian sat in the middle on the left, while Nicholas sat alone in the back-right corner.
Like Nicholas, Matthew Callan sat by himself.
But Nicholas seemed somewhat self-conscious, set apart by his age and experiences. Matthew Callan's solitude had more to do with his cold manner.
More than once, Zheng Qing had seen a young witch approach Matthew with a hopeful look, whether shyly or boldly, and strike up a conversation. He never seemed to give them the slightest encouragement. He always kept them at arm's length.
So when this Under the Moon Aristocrat, who usually kept to himself, suddenly came from the front of the classroom to the back corner to talk with the wizards of the You Zui Hunter Team, many people looked surprised and curious.
Especially since he sounded as though he was trying to win them over.
That put Zheng Qing on his guard.
"Invest? Oh, we're not considering that for now," the young scholarship student declined at once.
Then he realized he had sounded a little unfriendly and hurried to add, "Of course, if we need more investment later and start looking for investors, we'll come to you first. Haha."
Matthew did not know why Zheng Qing had laughed at the end, but to show he was friendly, he laughed along.
Once they stopped laughing, they stared at each other in a baffling silence.
Zheng Qing did not know what Matthew wanted, so
