The Silent River wound its way through the entire Silent Forest, with countless forks and branches. Entering it was like entering a vast maze of waterways. Without a guide, no one knew where the ferry would head the next moment.
Especially since this forest was home to all manner of magical creatures.
There were ugly tree spirits, enchanting fairies, well-known Qiu Dragons, fire dragons, unicorns, Fire Phoenixes, basilisks, ghouls, and more, as well as lesser-known Ghostly Realms, Fish Women, Pao Xiaos, Xing Xings, Lu Shus, Shu Sis, Gu Diaos, and countless others. It could be said that nearly every Magical Creature with a name in the Wizarding World could be found in this forest.
In a sense, the Silent Forest was more like a biological laboratory established by First University.
As one of the main water sources in the great forest, the Silent River gathered a great many Magical Creatures. The dangers of traveling through it were obvious, as was the importance of a good boatman and a good ferry.
Though the ferry was small, it was far more spacious inside than it appeared.
The cabin covered several hundred paces, with a warm stove, comfortable cushioned chairs, delicious pastries, and tasty drinks. Being inside felt like sitting in a lively salon. There were also two tall floor-to-ceiling windows on each side of the cabin, offering a clear view of the beautiful scenery along both banks of the Silent River.
Just a step away, the river flowed peacefully. The dense trees on both banks firmly blocked the biting cold wind, and the water's surface was as still as a mirror. Only the gentle sunlight could pierce the guarded forest and send its mottled warmth into this dark world.
Yet to Zheng Qing, that peace felt impossibly distant.
