Beta Town was a wizarding town with a diverse civilization.
Located near the harbor in the town's northern district, Forest Goods Market attracted representatives of different races, civilizations, and factions with its complete range and great variety of goods. This diversity blended together here, creating a uniquely distinctive style.
The buildings here were not tall, most remaining under ten meters. Yet their construction materials varied enormously, from common red bricks, bluestone, and black tiles to light wooden boards, verdant bamboo, and brown animal hides; from crystalline blocks of ice and silver-white metal to buildings made entirely of bones and colorful bubbles.
Moreover, like their materials, the styles of these buildings were equally bizarre and varied.
After merely circling the outer edge of the market once, Zheng Qing had seen a ship-shaped restaurant built of wood, a castle-like inn made of bluestone, a bar inside the belly of a great Tree, a supermarket beneath a bamboo hut, and a gigantic square tent with a golden roof. It was dazzling and astonishing.

This market bordered Silent River Harbor and stood at the edge of the Silent Forest, the remotest part of Beta Town. It was not entirely under the protection of First University—even the community at the foot of Alpha Castle, where Beta Town stood, did not belong to First University. It had merely come into being because of First University, and First University had no obligation to guarantee the town's safety.
Even though First University collected some taxes from the town.
In contrast to that rather unconvincing security, the Silent Forest outside town and Silent River were home to many dangerous Magical Creatures, many of which had been classified by the Wizard Alliance as high-risk creatures.
