The hardest thing to deal with about Nekron was not Nekron himself.
It was his nearly endless legion of living dead, which could neither be destroyed nor eradicated.
Brad happened to have a method that targeted precisely that problem.
As long as he had enough resources, his army of mechanical beings was endless too.
Machines still suffered wear and tear, and unlike the undead warriors wearing Black Lantern Rings, they were not immune to injury. Even so, they were far better than sending living people into a head-on clash with the Black Lantern Legion.
After gaining the ability to alter the reality of a universe, Brad had found plenty of leftover universe debris from the World Forge's forging process. To the World Forge, these remnants were inedible waste. To Brad, they were usable resources.
Dream Firestorm could also change the fundamental nature of matter. Working with Brad, Dream Firestorm transformed those universe remnants into vast armies of mechanical beings.
With inexhaustible resources at his disposal, Brad installed White Light Generators even on his reconnaissance robots.
A dimly glowing white-light mechanical being was tossed through a narrow portal that had just opened.
Its internal programming activated, and its electronic eyes shone white. With a hum, its thrusters ignited, carrying it toward the Earth swarming with Black Lanterns.
Then came a second, and a third.
The portal began to expand.
The tenth, the hundredth, the thousandth.
The white-light mechanical beings formed a vast legion and advanced toward the Earth of the Black Lantern universe.
At first, not a single Black Lantern gave any thought to the machines that had appeared so abruptly.
They were immortal undead, and this imitation of White Lantern light was laughable. Apart from making them slightly uncomfortable, it could not hurt them at all.
Like soldiers marching endlessly
