Brad recovered Sabretooth's corpse.
Even in death, Sabretooth's genes were still valuable material.
The real Logan was destined to come up empty. He would probably just assume Sabretooth had gone into hiding again, waiting for his next chance to hurt someone.
Meanwhile, Brad's primary consciousness was inside the core of an Ultimate Nullifier TX-1, controlling its steel body as he stood in a stretch of wasteland.
This was where Brad had detected the Reality Stone when he first connected to the Canada Supercomputer at full capacity.
But the Reality Stone was hidden in a spatial fissure that normally remained invisible.
According to his calculations, it would be decades before the spatial fissure here became unstable again.
Brad had no intention of waiting that long. Once Howard's technology was ready, he began planning to open the breach and obtain the Reality Stone.
Brad waved a hand. The skin on his arm opened, and several finger-thick metal cylinders flew out. Steel spikes emerged from their bottoms while flames jetted from their tops, sending each one down into its calculated position.
Then Brad raised his head. His mechanical eyes seemed to see straight through the white sky to the three satellites poised in space.
Positioning complete.
Spatial Pulse ready.
Three.
Two.
One.
The undersides of the three satellites opened.
Pulses invisible to the naked eye shot down from outer space toward the coordinates. Then the scene before Brad began to shake violently.
It was like a canvas flapping in a gale.
Brad observed it for a while, collected some readings, then issued a command to increase the power.
The scene shook even more violently. Any normal person standing in this space would probably have lost all sense of orientation and started vomiting uncontrollably.
But Brad was seeing through a Mechanical Being's eyes, so
