"Bionics superpowers."
"This is still only the preliminary stage of Current Flow."
"Just as I thought. In a sense, the Magnetic Field Rotation Method can be considered a biological enhancement technique specifically designed for genetic evolution."
With Brad's approval, the man in the lab coat restored his breathing rhythm, then entered a string of commands into the computer, requesting a ping-pong-ball-sized sphere of nanomechanical polymer.
His face shone with the excitement of discovery.
The sight made Brad frown.
"Don't worry. There are only benefits."
"Skynet will teach you how to use it."
The man in the lab coat handed over the silvery-gray metal ball.
Brad took it, examined it briefly, then pressed it against his chest.
Skynet simultaneously issued the command to activate the nanomechanical polymer. Brad felt a cool, tingling sensation in his chest, then watched the metal nanosphere sink into his skin bit by bit.
"This isn't the T3000 series' consumption and fusion process, and it won't transform you into a T3000-series Terminator. Ordinarily, though, it will hide inside your bones, with a portion circulating through your bloodstream."
"As long as it's inside your body, we can monitor even the slightest changes in you around the clock."
"And thanks to Supercomputer-World's immense processing power, we won't have any communication problems, no matter which reality within the Home Universe you travel to."
"If you suffer a life-threatening injury, the nanomechanical swarm will be the best surgeon you could ask for. It can assist with treatment, and even reattaching a severed arm won't be a problem."
Brad closed his eyes, carefully sensing the nanomechanical swarm spreading through his body. Hearing the man's words, he opened his eyes with a curious look.
This time, however, he did not ask any questions.
The reason was obvious. Breakthroughs in biotechnology could never come
