That morning, at Villa No. 200 in the Mingyue Residential Area.
The villa had three floors, a basement, and an enormous terrace on the third floor. Its total floor area was 512 square meters. Including the basement, courtyard, huge terrace, and other spaces, it came to nearly 800 square meters.
The villa's second floor contained four enormous rooms: a bedroom, a media room, a reception room, and a spacious martial arts hall. The martial arts hall alone covered 120 square meters, taking up almost half the second floor.
Luo Yuan had just finished unpacking when his phone rang. It was his instructor, Jiang Nian.
"Hello, Instructor Jiang. What is it?"
"Luo Yuan, do you have time right now? Our supervisor would like to meet you at the Limit Hall in the Mingyue Residential Area," came Jiang Nian's steady voice.
"Uh, the supervisor wants to see me? All right, I'll be right there." Luo Yuan changed into a training outfit and left his villa. He actually had no idea who this supervisor was, but he did not give it much thought.
When he reached the Limit Hall, Luo Yuan immediately saw an immense compound ahead. Beyond its long, silver-white perimeter wall stood a towering, dark-blue skyscraper. Four enormous Chinese characters on its facade could be read clearly from several kilometers away-Limitless Martial Hall!
Guards with loaded firearms stood watch all along the Limit General Hall's perimeter wall. The entire compound felt like a monster armed to the teeth. Its main entrance was a full hundred meters wide, with rows of soldiers surveying their surroundings.
Jiang Nian was actually waiting for him at the entrance, making Luo Yuan realize how much importance they placed on him.
"This is the Limit General Hall! Our Limitless Martial Hall's headquarters in Jiangnan City," Jiang Nian said.
"These are our own troops. The Limitless Martial Hall is authorized to establish its own security force."
"Luo Yuan, don't be nervous. It's just an ordinary meeting. Come on, let's go inside."
Jiang Nian patted Luo Yuan on the shoulder and led him toward the main entrance. Luo Yuan nodded in response.
"Let them through!" A one-armed man with a scar on his face waved from the entrance. All the soldiers immediately took a step back. Their perfectly synchronized movement made Luo Yuan feel the grim, battle-hardened air of these iron-willed soldiers.
"The warriors of our Limit Hall are very close-knit."
Jiang Nian pointed at a skyscraper.
"Look, that building is the headquarters for the Limitless Martial Hall's warriors in Jiangnan City! Almost everyone going in and out is a warrior."
"Almost everyone is a warrior?"
Luo Yuan was startled, then delighted. It seemed he had found a suitable place to collect attributes at his current level. Through the glass of the skyscraper's ground-floor lobby, he could make out hazy figures inside. There were probably over a hundred people.
"Most of the people in the ground-floor lobby are drinking and chatting. In this headquarters building, floors two through nine are where Warrior Level warriors usually train and spend their time. Floors ten through nineteen are for War General Level warriors. As for the twentieth floor and above... those are used for group meetings."
As he listened to Jiang Nian's explanation, Luo Yuan felt he needed to become a warrior as soon as possible. He wondered whether he could take the assessment here ahead of schedule.
Luo Yuan and Jiang Nian chatted as they walked, soon arriving outside a detached three-story villa. It occupied a sizable plot, and its second floor was wide open, every bit as large as the martial arts hall at the Limitless Martial Hall in Yangzhou's Yi'an District.
"Supervisor, Uncle Bai, Head Instructor," Jiang Nian greeted respectfully as soon as he entered the second floor.
"Jiang Nian, this young man must be Luo Yuan," a gentle voice said.
"Yes, Supervisor," Jiang Nian answered respectfully.
Luo Yuan looked up and studied the seven people standing on the second floor. There was an elderly man with graying hair, a middle-aged man with long hair hanging loose, and five others who seemed to be together. Four of them, men and women dressed in white suits, stood respectfully behind a middle-aged man in a black Tang suit. The man in the Tang suit was thin, with a hooked nose and a gentle smile in his eyes. There was a soft, almost feminine air about him.
Jiang Nian immediately gave Luo Yuan a meaningful look. Only then did Luo Yuan snap out of his daze and realize this was the highest-ranking person present. He quickly said, "Greetings, Supervisor."
"Mm."
The middle-aged man in the Tang suit nodded slightly. "Luo Yuan, may we assess your strength now?"
Luo Yuan was a little taken aback by his words. He's being this direct?
"Uh, of course. I just wanted to ask whether this test could count as my Quasi-Warrior Assessment. I'd like to take it ahead of schedule," Luo Yuan said, steeling himself. He could sense that the man before him was extremely powerful.
"Yes." The middle-aged man in the Tang suit looked at Luo Yuan and approved it on the spot.
"Begin!" he told the four people behind him.
"Yes."
Beep!
The Punch Strength Tester, Speed Tester, and other devices were all switched on.
Whirr...
The cameras and other equipment in the spacious second-floor martial arts hall all came online. Clearly, they intended to record Luo Yuan's entire assessment.
The four young men and women in white suits immediately got to work as well. Some held handheld computers, while others personally checked the instruments for accuracy.
"Luo Yuan, begin the assessment. Punch strength first," the middle-aged man in the Tang suit said gently from the side.
Luo Yuan took a deep breath and approached the Punch Strength Tester. His seemingly relaxed body suddenly exploded into motion, lunging like a cheetah.
Bam! A powerful punch cracked through the air and slammed into the Punch Strength Tester's target.
The display read-"2200 kg."
"Not bad, young man." The supervisor, who had remained composed throughout, smiled and nodded. "Continue with the next test."
The results of the speed test and Nerve Reaction Test soon came in.
Speed test result-45 m/s. Nerve Reaction Test-micro level.
"Your three physical fitness results are good. You're already at the standard of an Intermediate Warrior, even without practicing a genetic origin energy cultivation method. And your nerve reaction speed has actually reached the micro level. You truly are a genius." The middle-aged man in the Tang suit smiled and nodded, his eyes gleaming.
"And you're eighteen years old, within the age limit."
The middle-aged man in the Tang suit turned to Jiang Nian with a smile. "Your Yi'an District has produced quite a genius. Jiang Nian, you deserve much of the credit."
Jiang Nian could not help looking pleased. "It's mostly because this young man Luo Yuan works hard enough himself," he said with a smile.
The middle-aged man in the Tang suit turned his gaze to Luo Yuan.
"Luo Yuan, I heard you've already agreed to join our Limitless Martial Hall. Excellent. The terms Jiang Nian offered you were still a little too modest."
The middle-aged man in the Tang suit looked at a woman in a white suit beside him. "Draft a contract under the usual terms... but change one clause. Luo Yuan may choose any movement technique, Guidance Technique, and Attack Technique manuals, as well as weapons and equipment. As long as the total cost is within two hundred million, they'll all be free. I'll cover the bill."
"Yes, Supervisor." The woman in the white suit gave Luo Yuan a surprised glance. Not daring to say anything more, she immediately went to print the contract.
"Supervisor..." Luo Yuan was astonished.
"Luo Yuan, you're very promising." The middle-aged man in the Tang suit smiled faintly. "I have high hopes for you. Don't worry about this little bit of money."
