Who could see through me?

Chen Ao waited quietly for Luo Feng to finish his Heavenly Bridge challenge and come out.

After roughly half an hour, Luo Feng's results came in. He had actually cleared the first level and even fought for a while on the second.

In the original story, Bolan had cleared the second level on his first attempt, while Rong Jun had cleared the first. None of the other geniuses, including Luo Feng, had managed to clear even the first level.

This time, Luo Feng had joined their ranks.

Even so, only three people had passed.

Chen Ao was the last to enter the Heavenly Bridge this time. Compared with waiting around for his results, going in last drew less attention.

"Senior, you're here!" Luo Feng greeted him.

Rong Jun watched Chen Ao warily, with a hint of anticipation in his eyes, as though he wanted to see how far Chen Ao could get.

Upon seeing Chen Ao arrive, Guardian Bafen explained the rules of the Heavenly Bridge challenge to him, as required.

Every level he cleared would earn him one opportunity to study the Chaos Stele.

Chen Ao took a look. Sure enough, the Green Shadow Heavenly Bridge had only twenty-one levels, the fewest of any Heavenly Bridge.

The points reward system was also revealed. Clearing the first level earned 100 points, the second earned 200, and the reward doubled with each subsequent level.

As newcomers, they would receive ten times the normal rewards during their thirty-odd years in Chaos City.

"Newcomer, Chen Ao, do you wish to challenge the Heavenly Bridge now?"

"Of course!"

There was no one on the Green Shadow Heavenly Bridge, so Chen Ao went straight in.

On the first level, he walked all the way to the end.

A voice suddenly rang out.

"Choose your opponent: a Controller, an Illusionist, or a warrior. Defeat any one of them to clear this level of the Heavenly Bridge!"

"I choose an Illusionist!"

Soon, a cloud of mist drifted out.

"Defeat me to enter the next level. I will use only one move. If you can withstand it, you win!"

Chen Ao nodded. This was exactly what he wanted.

He knew many people would watch their Heavenly Bridge challenges. Once he got caught up in a fight, he would no longer be able to control how much of his strength he revealed.

He had to clear this first level, or people would look down on him.

Being looked down on was not the problem. The problem was being watched...

Drawing anyone's attention, whether for something good or bad, was never a good thing.

Choosing an Illusionist was therefore the best option. He would not need to attack at all. It would be purely a contest of law comprehension and willpower.

If I just stand here without moving, what can anyone see? Who could see through me?

Even if the Chaos City Lord came, he would have no way of telling how strong Chen Ao was.

Soon, the illusion appeared. Chen Ao found himself surrounded by stunning beauties of every kind, all scantily clad. They even seemed eager for him to help them shed a little more.

At the sight, Chen Ao inwardly marveled. Apparently, he was still a dirty old lecher at heart. The illusion had started with beautiful women right off the bat.

But on second thought, it made sense. He had sat idle for forty years without doing a damn thing. Even when Hong and Lei had faced certain death against the Golden Horned Beast, he had not budged. What else could possibly tempt him?

I've taken lying low to the limit. Nothing can tempt me.

"It's only because I'm too innocent. I'm a man, after all. Being a little lustful is understandable!"

Still, a sharp light flashed in Chen Ao's eyes. At a glance, he saw that they were not human!

Boom!

The illusion around him immediately shattered.

The mist opposite him seemed to pause. "You're very strong. You broke my illusion in just three seconds!"

"Heh, I wouldn't call that breaking it. Three seconds is all I need to finish!"

The mist said nothing more and vanished, revealing the path to the second level.

Chen Ao walked straight up.

Faced with the same scene, Chen Ao chose an Illusionist again.

Once again, there would be only one move.

I have to fail this time, but I can't keep lasting only three seconds, can I? How about trying to hold out for three minutes?

"Sword Ghost King, one of this batch of newcomers chose our Green Shadow Chaos Stele. Aren't you going to take a look?"

"Oh? After so many batches, someone finally chose our Green Shadow Lineage!"

Their lineage did have few members, but they were far from weak. These three were Sword Ghost King, King Muqi, and King Ke Jian, and all had reached the Invincible King level.

Their attacks were also exceptionally sharp, every bit the equal of those who cultivated the Law of Gold.

"Come on, let's go see what this young fellow is like!"

By the time they arrived at the Heavenly Bridge, Chen Ao had already been teleported out.

"Not bad! This young fellow cleared the first level on his first attempt!"

Clearing the first level upon arrival was indeed impressive. He absolutely qualified as a top genius.

True Yan King and the others were there as well. Seeing Sword Ghost King's group, he immediately burst out laughing. "Hahaha! Sword Ghost King, I never thought you'd show up too!"

Bafen nodded, then sent the recording to the three of them.

After watching Chen Ao's challenge, the three Invincible Kings could not stop frowning.

Looking at their contorted expressions, True Yan King laughed delightedly. "What's with those faces? Is this young fellow really that bad?"

Luo Feng of their lineage had cleared the first level on his very first attempt and fought the second level's guardian for quite some time.

His foundations were excellent.

Sword Ghost King's brow remained deeply furrowed. Chen Ao's challenge left them at a loss for words.

"That's not right. Aren't the members of your Green Shadow Lineage supposed to be warriors? And about eighty percent of them use swords, don't they?"

In the Green Shadow Lineage, there was no future in pursuing illusions!

"Hahaha! Look at you three, worrying yourselves sick. Our Luo Feng of the Nine Universe Lineage is much better. Haha, I'm going to get in touch with him!"
