Luo Feng had flaunted his romantic bliss, but Chen Ao said he had enjoyed plenty of that himself once and did not care.
"Senior, how do you plan to cultivate next?" Luo Feng asked in the public area.
"Cultivate hard!"
Luo Feng: ...
For some reason, every conversation took a wild turn whenever it reached Chen Ao, yet Luo Feng could never find anything to say.
Was there anything wrong with cultivating hard?
"Ahem, actually, after more than thirty years of cultivation in Chaos City, I was hoping to spar with you, Senior!"
At the mention of sparring, a trace of burning eagerness appeared in Luo Feng's eyes, as though Chen Ao were not a senior but a scantily clad beauty.
Hearing Luo Feng's words, Chen Ao suddenly cried out shrilly, "Luo Feng, I completely misjudged you! You know perfectly well that you're much stronger than me, yet you still want to spar? Are you planning to beat me senseless? I don't believe I've ever offended you, so why would you treat me like this?"
Luo Feng: ...
I wasn't.
"Senior, that's not what I meant. I think you've been hiding a great deal of your strength, so I wanted to see..."
"See what? You just want to see me humiliated, don't you? To think you were such a petty man, Luo Feng!"
Chen Ao kept protesting, painting Luo Feng as a despicable bully who preyed on the weak.
As long as I admit defeat fast enough, an honest guy like Luo Feng will be too embarrassed to lay a hand on me.
Seeing Chen Ao react so strongly, Luo Feng felt unable to defend himself. Even though he knew Chen Ao was putting on an act, the expressions on the surrounding geniuses' faces left him at a loss.
Chen Ao is definitely no weakling. I can't vouch for anything else, but his strength is certainly no worse than mine.
He's putting all of this on.
Chen Ao stared coldly at Luo Feng, looking ready to scream again if he so much as mentioned sparring.
"Ah, Senior, why go this far? We're in the Initial Universe. There's no danger here, so there's no need to hide your strength!"
"I have no idea what you're talking about. You're an expert who cleared the sixth level of the Heavenly Bridge, yet you're bullying someone who only cleared the fifth. Have you no shame?"
"No, no, Senior, I was wrong. Just pretend I never said anything!"
Luo Feng still cared about his dignity. He was nothing like the utterly shameless Chen Ao.
"All right, I'll pretend you never said it, and don't say anything like that again. You're the Child of Fortune, the man destined to rule the entire universe, while I'm merely your guide. Now that my task as your guide is complete, it's time for you to soar. I'll quietly watch from behind as you show of... ahem, as you become the Strongest One!"
"Stop, stop! Senior, please spare me. Don't say things like that!"
Even though Luo Feng had lived for several decades, his face still burned.
This was the public area, with at least several hundred people around, all of them geniuses. Yet Chen Ao could loudly proclaim that he was some Child of Fortune who would rule the universe.
Wasn't that just inviting ridicule?
In fact, plenty of people were already laughing, wondering which tribe these two youngsters, Chen Ao and Luo Feng, had crawled out of.
The Child of Fortune?
Ruling the universe?
In your dreams!
Luo Feng covered his face, utterly defeated by Chen Ao. How could he shout something so embarrassing at the top of his lungs?
"Senior, in that case, I'll return to the Taichu Zone. Contact me anytime if you need anything!"
Chen Ao nodded. "Go on, Earth's Child of For..."
Beep, beep, beep...
Your friend Luo Feng has gone offline.
"Young people are so impatient. They can't even handle a little thing like this!" Unbothered by Luo Feng's disappearance, Chen Ao soon returned to his room in the Primal Region.
As long as he did not feel embarrassed, Luo Feng would be the only one embarrassed.
As a member of the Primal Region, he had been assigned an Undying guard by the Virtual Universe, along with a whole host of World Lord and Domain Lord subordinates.
The Undying assigned to him was named Angke.
When Chen Ao arrived at his residence in the Primal Region, Angke immediately bowed. "Your Highness, you're finally here!"
Angke had approached Chen Ao thirty-five years earlier, but Chen Ao had been focused entirely on comprehending the laws and had barely paid him any attention, merely telling Angke to do as he pleased.
Now that Chen Ao had come to the Primal Region in person, Angke naturally had to take up his duties as a guard.
"Hello, Angke!"
Angke was a burly tiger-man with an honest-looking face. Seeing the smile on Chen Ao's face, he felt that Chen Ao was approachable and put on no airs.
"Your Highness, from now on, I will be the captain of your guards. If you need anything done, you can give your orders directly to me!"
Angke began by explaining his duties.
"Of course, there are certain trials I cannot help you with, Your Highness. You will have to complete those yourself!"
"All right, I understand!"
"Also, Your Highness, as a member of the Primal Region, you have the right to choose a Marquis Level Undying as your teacher. This teacher can help you cultivate more effectively!"
"Well, are there any really aloof Marquis Immortals? The kind who wouldn't want to visit even once in several hundred years?"
Huh?
Angke was completely dumbfounded.
Are you looking for a teacher or a door guardian?
"Your Highness, I don't quite understand what you mean."
"It's simple. I already have a teacher, so I don't need another one assigned to me. You can find someone for me just to fulfill the Virtual Universe's arrangement. I doubt any Undying would turn down a salary for doing nothing, right?"
Chen Ao did not need a teacher at all. What he needed to do now was comprehend the laws. Once his comprehension was high enough, these Undying would have nothing to teach him anyway.
"All right, I understand what you mean, Your Highness!"
Chen Ao gave Angke a meaningful look, then entered the grounds on his own.
The fact that an Undying like Angke was willing to serve as a guard clearly meant that the benefits of being a guard were greater.
With that being the case, leaving the matter of his Undying teacher to Angke gave him plenty of room to work with.
For instance, couldn't a Marquis on good terms with Angke collect a salary for doing nothing?
That was no small sum. It amounted to an enormous favor.
Chen Ao had handed Angke a tremendous benefit.
Before long, Angke came to find Chen Ao. "Your Highness Chen Ao, I've chosen a very powerful Marquis Immortal for you: the White Tiger Marquis!"
The White Tiger Marquis?
After glancing at Angke's race, Chen Ao nodded, then selected the option to accept in the Virtual Universe.
"Thank you, Your Highness!" Angke looked at Chen Ao gratefully.
"It's nothing. I'll be relying on your help quite a bit from now on!"
"Whatever your orders, Your Highness, as long as they don't violate the Virtual Universe's principles, I will do everything I can!"
Chen Ao nodded. This was exactly the effect he wanted.
His guard now owed him a great favor and would do his best to look out for him in the future. He had traded something he had no use for in exchange for his guard's loyalty. Both sides benefited.
"Now that I've arrived in the Primal Secret Region, it's time to begin the next stage of my plan!"
Chen Ao continued comprehending the laws, preparing to put the next stage of his plan into action.
His next plan was simple: become the Chaos City Lord's disciple. Within the Virtual Universe Company, was there anything better than securing the Chaos City Lord's backing?
