Huo Yuhao did not answer Elder Yi's question directly. Instead, he lowered his head and began to think.
In Huo Yuhao's established understanding, light and darkness were opposing attributes that restrained each other and would fight to the death.
Then Huo Yuhao recalled the abilities of Elder Yi, the Holy Necromancer, who fused these two mutually restraining attributes and used them together.
Although Huo Yuhao did not understand how Elder Yi accomplished this, he knew that his previous knowledge could not answer Elder Yi's question.
Huo Yuhao pondered the relationship between these two attributes, but in his own words, a block of elmwood like him could not come up with anything at all.
Yet, for some inexplicable reason, Huo Yuhao recalled what Snow Empress had said: ultimate ice was the art of controlling water, and its essence lay in controlling temperature.
Within the Sea of Consciousness, Huo Yuhao held out his hand and condensed a piece of ice in his palm. Then he melted it again. After repeating this several times, he seemed to understand something.
Water freezing into ice meant the temperature was falling, while ice melting into water meant the temperature was rising. Then, if he kept raising its temperature, the water in his hand would evaporate and disappear. And if he continued raising the temperature, his hand would not remain empty.
At this moment, what rested in Huo Yuhao's hand was no longer a piece of ice or a puddle of water, but a small flame.
As Huo Yuhao gazed at the flame in his hand, he understood something.
If ultimate ice involved lowering the temperature when water was present, then so-called ultimate fire involved continually raising the temperature when combustible material was present.
This was actually much like the transformations between the various powers of emotion
